At Haubro Free School and Nursery, we are seeking a department head for our nursery who is passionate about children, relationships and leadership. A department head who can create direction and development without losing presence. A department head who knows that strong communities create strong children.

We are looking for a visible and approachable department head who can lead the pedagogical development and at the same time stay close to children, staff and parents in daily life. With us, leadership is not about sitting behind a closed office door.

• Has experience with leadership or is interested in leadership education
• Is visible and present in everyday life
• Has a pedagogical basic education, is professionally well-founded and has experience within early childhood and children aged 0-6 years
• Has knowledge of and interest in curricula and learning environments
• Is flexible and decisive and leads both professionally and relationally
• Exudes stability and calm that provide security for children and adults
• Creates/can create job satisfaction, followership and professional development among the staff
• Will lead the re-certification as a Nature Institution/Green Sprouts
• Contributes actively to the strategic development of Haubro Free School and Nursery.
• Sees challenges and inspires solutions to them

About the job

As department head you will be responsible for the daily management of the nursery and become part of the institution's overall leadership team.

Your main tasks will be to

• Develop and ensure high quality in the pedagogical practice
• Strengthen the collaboration between the nursery, the school and home
• Actively contribute to the strategic development of Haubro Free School and Nursery.
• Daily operation and administration of the nursery

What you will encounter with us?

Haubro Nursery is operated as a private early childhood service, with subsidies from Vesthimmerland Municipality.

Haubro Nursery is part of Haubro Free School. We are a small nursery with about 70 children distributed across a toddler group and a kindergarten, as well as a close link to the school’s after-school program (SFO).

With us, we know all the children and families. We work with an appreciative view of children and believe that children develop best in secure communities with strong relationships and high expectations. Community, curiosity, security and formation are the foundations of our work every day.

You will become part of a management team of 3 leaders: the principal of the school and the department head for the free school. We create visions for Haubro Free School and Nursery together and distribute daily operations among us.

You will participate as an employee representative at board meetings, where you will experience that we work constructively and developing for Haubro Free School and Nursery.
