About the job
Would you like to help lead strong professional communities together with a leadership partner?
Are you passionate about personnel management, rehabilitation and professional development? And would you like a leadership role where you are not alone, but together with a leadership colleague share responsibility for creating a present leadership and a common direction for a well-run department with high professional standards?
Then you could be our new therapeutic-professional department head in Outpatient Training in Fredensborg Municipality.
We are looking for a department head who primarily wants to work with people and leadership. You do not need many years of leadership experience.
The crucial thing is that you want to be a visible, present and clear leader who is close to the employees and the professional everyday life.
About Outpatient Training
Outpatient Training is a well-run department with a high professional level and strong professional communities. The department currently consists of 44 employees, including occupational and physiotherapists, development therapist, administrative staff and a management unit.
We work rehabilitatively with the starting point in the citizen's goals, resources and everyday life and place emphasis on high professionalism, knowledge sharing and close cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Employees work across several locations, and the leadership task therefore calls for visibility, accessibility and presence.
You will be one of two deputy department heads
You do not have to solve the leadership task alone.
Outpatient Training shall be led by two deputy department heads who work closely together on the overall department. The reason for the strengthened leadership is among other things the department's size, task complexity, work at several sites and the desire for more present leadership.
Each of you will have your own personnel responsibility, but you must also have an eye for the whole and together create direction for Outpatient Training.
We do not expect you to be the same. On the contrary, you may have different strengths and perspectives. The important thing is that you want a close, trusting and binding leadership collaboration, where you counsel each other, coordinate and stand together for the shared direction.
Therefore, you must both be able to stand independently in your own leadership and want to share the leadership space with a colleague.
You will become part of a strong leadership community
You will report to the Head of Prevention and Training and become part of the leadership team in Prevention, Authority and Training.
The leadership group consists, in addition to the two department heads in Outpatient Training, of the department head for Authority and the department head for the Prevention team.
We have a close and trusting collaboration and emphasize that we use each other actively for sparring, share perspectives and help each other succeed with both daily management and larger development agendas.
As a new leader, we prioritize that you will not stand alone. You will receive a leadership buddy from the department, who will be an extra sparring partner in your first period and help you settle into both the leadership role and the organization.
You thus become part of a leadership community where there is room to contribute with what you already can and to develop yourself in the leadership role.
Your most important task will be people management
As department head you must be visible and accessible and care about both the employees, the professionalism and the everyday life they face.
You do not need to have answers to everything. But you should be willing to listen, be curious, set a direction and make decisions. And you must be able to create frameworks where employees experience trust and clarity and have good opportunities to bring their professionalism into play.
Your tasks will include, among others
- taking on people management for part of the department's employees
- being a visible and present leader in the daily life of the employees
- creating clear direction and followers
- supporting well-being, collaboration and strong professional communities
- supporting employees' professional development
- ensuring coherence between quality, operations and development
- working closely with your leadership colleague on the overall department
- creating coherence across teams and work places
- collaborating across the organization and with relevant external partners.
You will lead in an area undergoing change
The field of rehabilitation and retraining is moving. The Elderly Act and the upcoming implementation of the Health Reform mean that frameworks, collaboration interfaces and tasks are developing.
As our new department head you will therefore also play an important role in leading and supporting changes and together with the employees translate new frameworks into meaningful professional practice.
You must be able to create direction and security, even when not all answers are given in advance.
At the same time you will step into a well-run department with high professional standards. The task is therefore not change for change's sake. You must together with your leadership colleague and the employees safeguard what already functions well, and at the same time be curious about what we need to develop.
Who are you?
We imagine that you
- are educated as a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist
- are interested in leadership and motivated by making a difference through others
- prefer to have experience with leadership, coordination, professional development or other tasks where you have created direction and followers
- are present, listening and clear
- want to be close to the employees and the daily professional life
- can set a direction and at the same time make room for involvement and professional dialogue
- are focused on well-being, collaboration and development of strong professional communities
- can create calm and direction in a daily life where changes also happen
- are curious about the possibilities that developments in the health and elderly care sector bring with them
- can stand independently as a leader and at the same time participate in a close and trusting leadership collaboration.
If you already have leadership experience and perhaps a leadership education or other relevant further education, that is an advantage. But your motivation for leadership and your potential as a leader are at least as important to us.
What you get with us
You will get a leadership position
- close to the employees and the core task
- in a well-run department with high professional standards
- with the opportunity to shape the development of the field of rehabilitation and retraining
- in close collaboration with another department head
- in an area where the Elderly Act and Health Reform create new opportunities and development needs
- where there is both a need for attention to daily operations and a willingness to develop.
You will also become part of an organization where rehabilitation, prevention and cohesive citizen pathways are important agendas.
