Relief caregiver and companion sought for a 19-year-old man with cerebral palsy in Nørager - 23 hours per month.

Do you want to make a difference in daily life for a happy, social and humorous young man? We are looking for a stable, caring and responsible respite carer and companion .

About the position

• Relief care and accompaniment for the young man : 23 hours per month
• Extra companionship for his sister: Up to 15 hours as needed for his sister when her regular helper is absent.
• Working hours are agreed with the family.

About the young

The young man lives in Nørager with his family. He has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and is permanently wheelchair user. He needs extensive support for personal care, transfers, toilet visits, diaper changes, dressing, meals and practical tasks.

He thrives on structure, fixed routines and predictability and needs a secure and stable relationship. He enjoys good experiences, cozy company and activities outside the home.

Your tasks

• Assistance with personal care and practical tasks in the home.
• Create security, structure and presence.
• Accompany to for example shopping, family visits, concerts and other leisure activities.
• Drive in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle and help with necessary transfers and practical tasks.
• If needed, accompany and support his sister in activities outside the home.

Category B driving license is required , and you must be comfortable driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

• Is calm, caring, patient and stable.
• Is responsible and thrives with structure and fixed routines.
• Is comfortable with personal care and practical tasks.
• Has a Category B driving license and is comfortable driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
• Experience with disability services or personal care is welcome.
