About the job

In the Economy & Labour Market Administration's staff, we are seeking a professionally strong colleague who is eager to get right into the engine room between policy, economics and organization, and who thrives on taking responsibility in the gaps that arise in a large organization.

About the position

In the Economy & Labour Market Administration, we help secure the council's solid basis for making economic decisions. You will be responsible for creating coherence between political ambitions, organizational possibilities and economically oriented considerations across the service areas, directorate and political committees.

You will have a close collaboration with the director, the municipality's chief financial officer and the budget department, especially in relation to the budget process. Here you will be specifically tasked with preparing briefing papers that the director can use in the executive management and the political committees, and to collaborate with the budget department on materials and briefing papers in the budget process.

As a consultant in the staff, you will also contribute to the team's tasks by writing policy papers, facilitating processes, coordinating cross-cutting projects, qualifying the basis for decisions, and preparing briefs and presentations for the director. You will have a broad role where tasks are rarely predefined. Often there are many people involved, different considerations at play and no one who alone owns the task. You must be able to see what is missing to move forward.

Who needs to talk to whom, what information is missing, and which decisions need to be made. And you must be willing to take responsibility to weave the threads together so that things actually happen.

About you

You likely have experience with executive support and governance in a politically led organization. The most important is that you have good collaboration skills and the professional foundation and judgment required to work independently with complex cases.

We especially emphasize that you

  • have a fundamental understanding of economics and be able to find solutions with an eye for financial and governance considerations
  • have organizational and political acumen and can decode interests, considerations and options for action
  • have an analytical eye, be able to identify patterns and distinguish the essential from the non-essential
  • can convey complex messages clearly and precisely in writing and speaking
  • work independently, are proactive and see tasks that do not yet have a clear owner
  • can build relationships and make collaboration across departments work.

You do not need to know all the answers in advance. But you must be curious enough to find them and have the courage to take action before others have described the task to you.

About us

The Economy & Labour Market Administration has the overarching responsibility for the municipality's finances, IT and employment efforts. You will be employed in Strategy- & Management Support in the Economy & Labour Market Administration's staff. The team reports to the head of the staff.

In the team we ensure strong leadership support for the two political committees, the director and managers across the administration's areas. We are an office where we support each other and trust one another. We have an informal tone and a culture where there is room for humor, even when we are busy. We value both independence and collaboration and are good at sparring and coordinating so that we succeed in both.

The position is expected to start on December 1.

Application deadline is October 25, 2026 at 23:59 and we expect to hold interviews on Wednesday October 28 and Thursday October 29.

You can obtain further information by contacting the head of staff Sarah Yde Junge at tel. 23 27 93 56 or email [email protected].
