About the job
Can you see yourself in the role of an occupational safety coordinator on a Energinet construction project? Energinet is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the overarching electricity and gas transmission network in Denmark and carries out a portfolio of projects in the electricity and gas transmission networks. We are seeking an occupational safety coordinator with experience in the establishment phase, who can participate in the procurement phase and supervise health, safety and environment on site during the construction period.
Create a good and safe working environment – from tendering to execution
Your main task is to create a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that we always comply with applicable regulations. You will play a central role in both the tendering and execution phases, where occupational safety is considered early and followed through on the construction site. One of your responsibilities is to develop and maintain occupational safety screenings and journals as well as a plan for safety and health. A main task is also to coordinate the contractors’ safety efforts and to advise Energinet’s project managers on safety and occupational safety conditions.
Occupational Safety Coordinator in the design phase (AMK-B)
As an occupational safety coordinator in the tendering phase you will participate in the project organization’s work during the tender period with a focus on identifying and reducing occupational safety risks through planning and choosing solutions in close collaboration with specialists and project managers.
Your tasks in the tender phase include
- Participate in the project organization’s activities during the tender period with focus on risk-reducing measures, including input to construction site and phase plans
- Update the plan for safety and health in collaboration with the client
- Quality assure and scrutinize design and tender material from an occupational safety and safety-by-design perspective
Core tasks on the construction site include
- Follow up and be visible on the construction site, including through pattern-site rounds and close collaboration with our suppliers from domestic and abroad
- Ensure that all relevant HSE incidents are reported and followed up on observations, near-miss incidents and work accidents
- Report on targeted KPIs and develop action plans
- Be part of safety campaigns on the construction site to improve safety culture and prevent work accidents
At the same time, it is your responsibility to hold and refer safety meetings, instruct contractors and internal staff on occupational safety conditions and ensure that current occupational safety requirements are complied with. It is therefore advantageous if you have experience with initiatives to improve safety culture for project participants and contractors.
Experience with safety and occupational health on construction and civil engineering projects
You may for example be educated as an engineer in construction and civil engineering, building constructor, craftsman or have a similar background. The most important is that you have insight into occupational safety legislation and practical experience with safety and occupational safety in construction and civil engineering projects.
A qualification as an occupational safety coordinator is a prerequisite, and experience as an occupational safety coordinator in the establishment phase must be demonstrable. This includes having worked with, among other things, risk assessments, toolbox meetings and other central occupational safety activities.
To plan, structure and follow up on occupational safety tasks comes naturally to you, and you thrive on independently driving tasks forward in complex construction and civil engineering projects. Experience with handling disagreements between stakeholders is also important, as is the ability to ensure timely follow-up on occupational safety conditions so that risks are managed in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
At the same time, it is important that you
- Can collaborate and communicate with many disciplines, both in Danish and English, in writing and speaking
- Have a driving license for a passenger car and are flexible regarding working hours, as much of the work takes place “in the field,” where you are a visible and respected professional
- Have your own car
