About the job

Do you have a taste for professional challenges and development, and place high value on interdisciplinary collaboration, then perhaps a role as an on-call substitute at Hamarhus is for you.

About Hamarhus

Hamarhus is a children's and youth home in accordance with § 43 of the Child’s Act for children and young people, as well as a temporary housing facility in accordance with § 107 of SEL for youths aged 18-20. Hamarhus is part of the Special Area for Children and Young People (SBU) in the Central Denmark Region and is located in Viborg.

Hamarhus’s target group is normally gifted children and youths with autism spectrum disorder and additional diagnoses such as eating disorders, OCD and anxiety.

At Hamarhus we have a humanistic view of people with the belief that children and young people at all times do their best and have the right to be seen, heard and respected, which is why our professional basis and methods are based on this child- and youth-view.

We work based on the principles of Low Arousal, autism pedagogy, sensory profiles and neuroaffective developmental psychology, which you will experience as we work focused on the methods and how they support the individual child and youth.

We offer

  • an exciting workplace in a strong professional and developing environment where respect, interdisciplinary collaboration, presence, care and openness are the keywords
  • a meaningful job, with wonderful children and youths, good colleagues, and days that are never the same
  • a job where you can make a difference – every day
  • training and follow-up shifts that prepare you for independent shifts – there will always be colleagues on duty with you

Expectations of you

We are looking for employees who want to be part of a department in development and who, together with the other staff, can handle challenging situations while creating security and showing care for both the children and youths, as well as for parents and colleagues.

It is important that you are adaptable, as you will help your future colleagues with tasks that require you to work on the task in pairs.

As an on-call substitute at Hamarhus you will work professionally with children and youths with complex problems. It is a job that requires professional competence and respect for the individual.

We expect you to have a driver's license, as there will be driving with the youths.

If you have experience within the target group, that is advantageous but not a condition.

Please enclose your CV with relevant experience and any education.

About SBU

SBU consists of six specialized departments, three internal schools and a special kindergarten, which each day provide an individually tailored intervention for children and youths with cognitive difficulties, reduced mental- and physical functioning, developmental disorders, behavioral- and health-related issues.

We work closely with relatives, municipalities and other authorities to ensure the best possible framework for our target groups.

Employment and working hours

As an on-call substitute you will be contacted in case of illness. It will be possible to obtain a number of hours if desired.

You should expect to be called for rotating day/evening/weekend shifts, though you can have influence on which shifts you want.

We expect start by November 15, 2026.

Application deadline

November 5, 2026.
