We are experiencing an influx of children and youths and need to bolster our staff.

Are you the pedagogue who can stay grounded in meetings with children and youths who have challenging behavior? And can you simultaneously undertake the special pedagogical treatment that the target group at Hald Ege needs, then you are the one we are looking for.

About Hald Ege

Hald Ege is a children’s and youth home in accordance with § 43 of the Children’s Act for children and youths aged 5-23 years and a temporary residential facility in accordance with § 107 of the Social Services Act for youths aged 18-20 years. Hald Ege is part of Special Area for Children and Youth (SBU) in the Central Denmark Region and is geographically located in Viborg. We have 16 places, distributed across two departments.

Hald Ege’s target group is typically developing children and youths with attachment disorders, attention disorders, developmental disorders/ASD and various anxiety disorders. The children may exhibit outwardly aggressive and/or self-harming behavior, eating disorders and verbally and/or physically abusive behavior.

About the position

You will be employed as a contact pedagogue in one of our two departments and, together with a colleague, have the primary responsibility for two residents. You will join a team of about eight social pedagogues, around the special pedagogical treatment of up to eight residents. Your working hours are normally within the period from 07:00 to 23:00, with every second weekend. In your work weekends you typically rotate between Friday and Sunday or only Saturday.

According to the local agreement, long shifts up to 16 hours can be worked. There will predominantly be shifts of a maximum of 12 hours. As far as possible, you will have influence on your shift plan regarding a fixed weekly day off, etc.

You have

• A degree as a pedagogue
• Overview and the ability to keep calm in pressured situations
• Will and ability to take responsibility for your own communication through an assertive communication style
• The desire and ability to take responsibility for your own learning with a view to individual development
• The desire to participate in socializing and activities with the children/youths in a respectful and acknowledging manner
• You can – and will – handle mental and physical conflicts
• A thorough understanding of yourself and how you react and influence others
• Good written skills as documentation and reporting are a major part of the work
• Understanding of – and desire for – interdisciplinary collaboration with our health care colleagues
• Understanding of – and desire to work with – the entire health care aspect
• A well-developed mentalizing ability
• A driving license

About Special Area for Children and Youth

Special Area for Children and Youth is one of eight special areas within Region Midtjylland’s specialized social domain. SBU’s target group is characterized by both normally intelligent and intellectually challenged children and youths with complex issues such as pervasive developmental disorders, attachment disorders, behavioral disorders, attention disorders, specific learning difficulties, compulsive behaviors and/or brain injuries.

Additional information

We are seeking two to three pedagogues for fixed full-time positions, with salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between Socialpædagogerne and Danske Regioner.

We expect you to have a driving license, as there will be transport with the residents.

A criminal record and a child’s certificate will be obtained in connection with the employment.

The position is, as a rule, a full-time position.
