About the job

Would you like to be part of a team of skilled and like-minded specialists in contract management? And do you want to contribute to optimizing procurement, contract- and supplier management?

Then it might be you we are looking for!

About us

The position as contract manager is organizationally placed in the Contract Management Section, which is part of the Establishment- and Terrain Command's legal department. We are a professional and engaged team of clerks, legal clerks and legal specialist consultants.

We are among other things responsible for registration and systematic creation of agreements, contract administration, contract management, supplier segmentation as well as the management and coordination of the overall portfolio of supplier agreements in the Establishment- and Terrain Command. At the same time we provide legal advice within the procurement area to the Establishment- and Terrain Command's contract owners, so they can make informed decisions.

We have contracts and framework agreements across a wide range of areas, but our primary focus is on the larger contracts that are important for the operation of the armed forces’ many diverse facilities.

We work at the intersection of operations, economy and law and therefore work closely with the other sections in the department and with other departments and sections in the Establishment- and Terrain Command. We also have a very high level of supplier contact.

In addition to the importance of the professional and social community, which we highly value, it is important for us that our employees have a healthy balance between work life and family life. We therefore offer a high degree of flexibility with the possibility of remote work after your introduction period, just as we have a flexitime agreement that allows flexible planning of working hours.

We offer good opportunities for competence development and invest in the development and further education of our employees. You will therefore have good opportunities to develop yourself both personally and professionally in the position.

About the position

As part of the team you will become a key player in a dynamic and specialized environment, where you will have the opportunity to engage in procurement, contract- and supplier management at both a practical and strategic level. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a range of different professional groups and employees across sections and departments, who together handle the complex task of supporting the operation of the armed forces’ many diverse capacities.

You will be responsible for contract management of a number of contracts and to be the link between the rest of the organization.

Your tasks span a wide range and include, among others

  • Administrative tasks and case processing within contract administration and contract management, including supplier segmentation, creation and registration of new contracts, answering questions regarding contracts, incorporating changes to contracts and handling supplier contracts
  • Implementation of new agreements together with Establishment- and Terrain Command’s contract owners and other stakeholders
  • Follow-up on key elements in the contracts, including expiration/extension, price adjustment, CSR requirements and work clauses
  • Experience collection and participation in connection with (re)tendering of new contracts
  • Tasks related to penalty handling, analyses and compliance etc.
  • Advising contract users on the use of contracts
  • Drafting legal file notes for decision proposals
  • Participation in internal coordination meetings as well as collaboration and working groups across the legal department and the authority’s other departments.

Travel activity may occur in connection with implementation and/or supplier meetings and similar occasions, which however will predominantly be of one day’s duration.

Some tasks must be solved with short deadlines, which at times creates a busy period.

In connection with the start, we ensure a thorough training program, where you will, among other things, be assigned a mentor, who is an experienced colleague from the section. Your task portfolio will also be arranged based on your professional background, experience, seniority and skills. If you do not have experience with contract management, we will ensure that you are introduced to the area at an appropriate pace.

About you

We imagine that you have a relevant academic education – preferably as cand.jur or cand.merc.jur. But your educational background is not decisive if you have the right profile and the right skills to perform the role. Here, relevant experience with, for example, public procurement, contract- or supplier management would be an advantage, just as experience with project management or the role as a coordinator for larger tasks/projects will be viewed positively.

We also place emphasis on your ability to work independently and solution-oriented, be outgoing and curious and have an ease in building new relationships. You are good at maintaining an overview, even when the pace is high, and you can prioritize between different tasks.

The role of contract manager is, as mentioned, a link-connecting function. It is therefore important for us that you have a constructive approach to driving and participating in cross-disciplinary collaboration, and that you value and contribute to the good collaboration and learning across disciplines.

Employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the current collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

The employment is in accordance with the current Common Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector (OAO-S common agreement) and the Organizational Agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK) in the state.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is the possibility of negotiating allowances. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Hjørring.

As an employee within the Defence Ministry’s area you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment period.

As an employee you are obliged to render service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
