About the job

About the job

There is a permanent position of 35 hours per week starting on January 1, 2027 (or preferably earlier if possible). You will serve as a class pedagogue in teaching and as a pedagogue in the school's after-school care (SFO).

About the job

Skjoldhøjskolen and SFO are a community with a clear goal: We will stand together to best prepare our children for the future that awaits them after primary school.

You should not doubt that we mean it about the community. We succeed only when we lift together, take care of the challenges, and help each other to reach our goals. It is a work environment you should want to be an active part of.

You must be passionate about pedagogy and be able to see the strengths in all our fantastic children. Each one is unique and deserves adults who can see their potential and help them become the best version of themselves. Therefore you should not only be professionally skilled but also wise about people and the world around us. Skjoldhøjskolen and SFO place a very high value on students’ formation and well-being. That requires that we can do more than just meet the school’s academic goals.

Your profile

We expect

  • Professional dedication: That you reflect on your work with the children’s learning, development, and formation.
  • Overview and structure: That you can organize yourself and others – even under pressure.
  • Independence in teaching: That you can step in and take responsibility for teaching on your own if the regular teacher is absent, and that you are completely independent in this task.
  • Strong collaboration skills: That you can engage in a close and trustful collaboration with your class team and the parents around the children.
  • A broad perspective: That you see the individual child as unique and as a natural part of the community.
  • Bridge-builder: That you can embrace the pedagogy role in both general and special education, and that you have the desire and courage to move in both worlds.

Why you should choose us

You should choose us because you want to help create a fantastic after-school program and school in close cooperation with engaged colleagues, management, students, and parents. With us you will become a key person in shaping a meaningful and content-rich leisure time that directly starts from the children’s own needs, interests, and experiences.

We place a high value on the pedagogical work, and we expect that you can

  • Develop the children’s independence and strengthen your ability to participate in committed communities.
  • Guide the children in social interaction, so they learn to navigate appropriately in different situations and relationships.
  • Be a visible and clear adult. Our group of children is generally open and positive, but we also have children who need clear frameworks and adults who will wholeheartedly want them.
  • Act independently in the classroom. You should have the courage and competence to take over and teach on your own if the regular teacher is absent.

Salary and terms of employment

About us

Surrounded by green areas and with Denmark’s largest neighborhood of single-family homes, Skjoldhøjparken, as the nearest neighbor, Skjoldhøjskolen is located. We are a medium-sized, diverse school with about 460 children and young people distributed across 30 classes, including 11 special classes. Our 80 staff are divided into lower school, upper school, and a special department. We also have a close and good collaboration with local kindergartens and the after-school club.

With us, the student group reflects the colorful and multicultural local area. We like to say that here the atmosphere is full of “differentness in a good way.” We see children’s differences as a great resource, which we actively bring into play with mutual respect. Through a consistent direction and common footing, we create well-being, structure, and a predictable everyday life for both big and small across the entire school.

Who you will become part of?

Our staff group is a wonderful mix of both experienced and newer employees. We support each other, and we want to support each other – both professionally and socially. The atmosphere is informal, warm, and spiced with plenty of humor.

We believe that you learn by making mistakes. We share our opinions, are straightforward, and dare to challenge each other positively. Both staff and management are highly motivated, open to development, and receptive to new initiatives that benefit the children.

You can read more about us on the school’s website.
