About the job

Are you a committed educator with a focus on children's communities? Do you have high expectations for the children based on where they are academically and socially? Are you interested in working at a small, well-functioning public school with wonderful children and welcoming, ambitious colleagues?

Then you may be our upcoming colleague!

We are looking for a maternity-leave educator for the first grade team. You will be responsible for two-adult lessons. As an educator in the first grade you will be central to ensuring a good start to school for our pupils and to work with the municipality's practice around diverse child communities. You will join a team with the teachers and the other school educator in the year group.

If you have experience as a school educator and competencies in Danish and mathematics, that is a plus. Additionally, experience with co-teaching and special educational knowledge would be a strength, as we work with inclusive learning environments.

About us

Hanssted School is a smaller, two-track school and KKFO with about 530 students from a small and safe catchment area in Valby.

We are proud that we have a good working environment with 60 stable and ambitious colleagues who value both professional collaboration and a high priority on collegiality. Our teaching staff is characterized by long tenure, and we prioritize time and resources for continuing education.

Values

At Hanssted School we insist on high well-being and an appreciative approach to one another. We work from the following three values:

  • Community: Daily security and well-being are a prerequisite for learning. The adults at the school have a positive and acknowledging approach to each child, so all potentials are utilized. We place a high value on community, so we all have a responsibility to create a trusting and respectful everyday life.
  • Ambition: At Hanssted School we are ambitious. We want to be among the best schools in Copenhagen both academically and socially. This means we set demands on each other and expect the students to do their best, so that individual competencies and strengths are utilized as best as possible. Hanssted School must continue to be parents' preferred local school choice and collaboration with parents is a prerequisite for our success.
  • Development: We want to create a contemporary, creative and inspiring learning environment where everyone can be challenged. The students must be prepared for the reality that awaits after school.

It is our aim, when the children leave Hanssted School, our school, they will go out into life with belief in themselves, knowledge of their own resources and meet the world with interest and courage!

More about the job

The school is organised into two divisions: a primary school from kindergarten to 5th grade and a upper level from 6th-9th grade. You will be attached to the primary school and the year group team around 1st grade.
