Area Manager for Alpha.dk

Alpha.dk is seeking an area manager for a central leadership role, where you will be the Director's extended arm in the operations of our specialized 1:1 and 2:1 placements. You must have both pedagogical expertise and strong managerial experience to assume administrative and organizational responsibilities.

About Alpha.dk

Alpha.dk delivers specialized social-pedagogical services to young people and adults aged 10–35 who need long-term or intensive support. We create paths to well-being and independence through holistic, individually tailored programs in accordance with the Social Services Act sections 43 and 107.

We mainly work with 1:1 and 2:1 placements, where the young person has fixed, dedicated educators close by around the clock. This placement form enables us to work intensively and purposefully with each individual young person, and we prioritise the dedicated focus and presence that the 1:1 model makes possible. It, in turn, places high demands on our professional and methodological approach.

Our young people often have complex issues, including neglect and attachment difficulties, ADHD, anxiety and other mental health challenges, substance abuse, trajectories involving criminal activity, as well as social and cognitive challenges.

The pedagogical work is based on a broad range of methods and approaches, including structure pedagogy, an appreciative approach, empowerment, narrative approach, motivational interviewing (MI), person-centered conversations, social skills training, the KAT toolbox and ADL (Activities of Daily Living).

The methods are always adapted to the individual young person's needs and situation, and the work is supported by external supervision, psychological counseling, and collaboration with relevant professional authorities.

About the position – Area Manager

As an area manager you will be the Director's extended arm in daily operations. The role is both administrative and hands-on: you solve tasks, oversee and supervise the assigned departments, and translate the Director's decisions into practice. You have no fixed hours on the floor, but you are responsible for ensuring professional quality and sound operations.

You report directly to the Director and will be an important link between management and our Team Coordinators. You will have responsibility for supervising and overseeing 1–4 departments/projects, depending on the organization's needs.

Your work and areas of responsibility

• Leadership and operational responsibility for the assigned departments — ensuring stable and sound staffing, professional quality and pedagogical practice
• Responsible for ensuring that the interventions comply with legislation, inspection requirements, internal guidelines and Alpha's values and methodological approaches
• Ongoing development of the departments through professional sparring with Team Coordinators and staff
• Close follow-up on staff well-being, professional development and task execution
• Operations of the departments within the established budget — monitoring staffing levels, shift planning and resource use
• Collaboration with internal and external partners: municipalities, the Social Supervisory Authority (Socialtilsynet), relatives and other actors around the individual young people
• Ensuring correct documentation, follow-up on and preparation for inspections
• Ongoing sparring with the Director on operations, development, personnel issues and strategic decisions

You have no fixed hours on the floor and do not participate in the daily pedagogical work as part of the staffing. The Team Coordinators are not your substitutes, and delegating tasks does not shift the formal responsibility away from you toward the Director.

• can balance the needs of the individual offering with the organization's overall direction
• take responsibility, drive progress and can work independently within given parameters
• thrive on both practical sparring and strategic development

Working hours and availability

Working hours are generally within normal office hours (8:00–15:00). It is a trusted leadership position where parts of the work are arranged independently. Meetings and tasks outside normal office hours may occur, and flexibility is expected. You are available for sparring and decision-making support during working hours, and urgent situations may require contact outside normal working hours.
