About the job

Assistive Device Driver/Technician Wanted

As an assistive device driver/technician you spend most of the day servicing citizens in their own homes or in nursing homes. This is done by delivering, collecting, repairing and maintaining the assistive devices we handle for our municipalities.

Technical Assistive-Device Driver

After thorough training you deliver and collect personal assistive devices at citizens' homes, and you help with setup, instructions, etc. As a driver with us you help make everyday life easier for citizens who often face a challenging daily life.

You repair the assistive devices we have received back from citizens (e.g. beds and wheelchairs), and here you need to be good with your hands. It will mainly be mechanical repairs, but there may be smaller electrical tasks.

General

Fælles Hjælpemiddeldepot I/S is owned by 8 Zealand municipalities, and you will have the workplace at our address in Greve. You will take on tasks across most of Zealand.

A large part of your daily life will be characterized by practical tasks as well as dialogue with municipalities and citizens. This means that you on a daily basis:

  • deliver assistive devices to citizens and instruct in their use
  • perform light repairs and adjustments of assistive devices
  • communicate with citizens and contribute to good collaboration
  • record and handle information related to orders of assistive devices for citizens
  • prepare and set up assistive devices at the depot - tasks can be physically demanding
  • register assistive devices for washing and in the workshop

We expect you to have a technical education or equivalent qualifications, as well as the right attitude and approach to service for elderly, disabled and vulnerable citizens. In addition we would like you to:

  • Are an experienced and stable driver who works both independently and in sparring with your colleagues
  • Are comfortable with the fact that no two days are the same
  • Are motivated by having things under control
  • Possess basic IT skills, as driving and registrations are managed via handheld computer

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have a minimum driving license B, speak and write Danish and can handle heavy lifting.

Your working day will be between 07:00 and 18:00 but typically from 7:30 to 15:30 (Friday 15:00). Start as soon as possible.
