About the job

Are you passionate about leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration and specialized neurorehabilitation? We are seeking a visionary Chief Nurse who will help ensure cohesive pathways of high professional quality for people with acquired brain injury.

An inpatient ward with deep meaning and high specialization

At Ward 10 (W10) we always put the person before the injury. We are an inpatient ward with both regional and highly specialized function for patients with acquired brain injury, and we have space for 13 patients, all requiring specialized neurorehabilitation. Our patient pathways are longer, and that gives us a special opportunity to work deeply and holistically – not only with the injury, but with the whole person and the life the patient will return to.

What characterizes us is an interdisciplinary staff group that is passionate about the patient group and neurorehabilitation. Our strength lies in the close interdisciplinary collaboration, where we bring our different professional backgrounds into play, challenge each other and share knowledge openly. Psychological safety is the foundation for our collaboration: We dare to voice our opinions, ask for help and learn from each other.

Your tasks as Chief Nurse

The ward management in S10 has the overall managerial responsibility for a staff group of about 40 employees – nurses, social and healthcare assistants, occupational and physiotherapists as well as a secretary. In addition, a neuropsychologist, social worker and speech-language pathologist are attached. You will exercise leadership in a close team together with the lead therapist and the ward's affiliated doctors.

  • Ensure cohesive patient pathways with high professional standards and smooth transitions on admission and discharge
  • Take responsibility for pathway management together with the other management in S10
  • Carry the dual management task between S10 and the overall Hammel Neurocenter
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation together with the leadership, development and research group

You will work closely with the ward's three specialist-responsible staff and join a large network of dedicated management colleagues. From 2027 RHN will take over the specialized neurorehabilitation in the next phase in connection with the implementation of the health reform. Therefore, together with your colleagues in the ward's leadership team, you will join the overall interdisciplinary leadership group across all three sites in Hammel, Skive and Lemvig. S10 is located on the Hammel campus.

About you

We are looking for a leader with an inspiring leadership style who supports and prioritizes competence development. You are skilled at communicating, radiate energy and are a good role model. You have a clear nursing professional identity, which you actively use in the interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation. You can create direction, have assertiveness and follow up on what you set in motion.

You have organizational overview, strong administrative abilities and flair for financial management. At the same time, you are a person who reaches out when there is a need for sparring, support and help – because you know that we achieve the most when we work together. It comes natural to you to balance between the monodisciplinary leadership of the nursing group and the broad interdisciplinary collaboration.

What we offer

  • An interdisciplinary staff group that is passionate about neurorehabilitation and characterized by high professionalism
  • A monodisciplinary focus in the nursing group with a basis in Fundamentals of Care as a framework for reflection
  • Leadership in a close team with the lead therapist and the ward's affiliated doctors, as well as close collaboration with three specialist-responsible staff
  • A large network of engaged fellow leaders with good opportunities for sparring and development

Onboarding

You will receive a solid onboarding process in Hospital Unit Midt, which introduces you to both leadership and administrative areas. Here you will become part of the organization and have the opportunity to participate in cross-organizational collaborations. With us you will find a workplace community driven by professionalism, human closeness and a common ambition to make a difference.
