About the job

Do you want to help create the best conditions for children's learning, well-being and development?

At Fællesskolen Favrdal-Fjelstrup we are seeking a head of department for our middle level, Junioruniverset. You will be responsible for 12 staff and become part of a leadership team that works closely together to create strong learning communities and develop the school.

Your key tasks

The everyday life in Junioruniverset is lively and predictable at the same time, and you will be the one to ensure that the framework works and that staff receive the support they need.

Your tasks will include

  • lead daily operations – planning, staffing and follow-up.
  • provide professional sparring to staff with the goal of promoting a positive and inclusive learning culture.
  • lead department- and subject-team meetings with a focus on action and clear follow-up.
  • collaboration with PPR and Family Department.
  • be visible in everyday life and create a sense of security in contact with children and parents.

Your everyday life with us

We work every day to collaborate more across teams and to put the children at the center. You will become a leader in a Juniorunivers, where you can expect that:

  • we work with a child-centered view in words and actions through an appreciative approach that sees each pupil and places their learning and well-being high.
  • you will be part of a strong leadership team that collaborates to drive development and solve tasks.
  • we are in full swing of anchoring a middle form in practice, and as head of department you will help develop and support it.
  • colleagues help each other, and we say things honestly and properly.
  • we celebrate small successes because they matter to children's belief in themselves.

Therefore choose us

With us you become part of a school where dialogue, community and ambitions are more than words. You will have skilled colleagues, a closely collaborating leadership team and the opportunity to shape the development of both staff, students and the school's pedagogical direction. We believe that good leadership is created through relationships, trust and shared responsibility.

Who are you?

We are looking for a head of department who will be close to staff, who dares to set direction and who wants to engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration with your leadership colleagues.

You are trained as a teacher or have another relevant pedagogical background. If you do not yet have a leadership qualification, we would like you to be willing to pursue one.

You do not need to have experience in all areas. The most important is that you want the leadership role, have strong relational skills and motivation to create good conditions for children and staff.

About Junioruniverset

Junioruniverset is our middle level – a safe place where we focus on the best conditions for students' learning, well-being and development.

Collaboration, trust and shared responsibility are the foundation for both learning and development. We believe that social and academic well-being go hand in hand. Therefore we work purposefully with inclusive learning communities where everyone experiences belonging, contributing and succeeding.

We are very focused on translating our pedagogical framework into our daily work. In that we operate from:

  • Community – We can do more together than we can alone
  • Deepening – If we want to be skilled at something, we must spend time on it
  • Joy – If we are happy with our school, we learn more.
