About the job

Do you want to help strengthen the health emergency preparedness of the future?

Do you have practical experience from the emergency preparedness field, a mindset for crisis management and a desire to work with risk and vulnerability analyses, critical infrastructure and society's resilience?

Then we have an exciting opportunity in the Department of Health Emergency Preparedness in the Prehospital Care, Region Midtjylland. We are looking for an independent and engaged emergency preparedness consultant with a solid emergency management background and preferably a relevant education at a minimum bachelor level. With us you come close to the operational reality and at the same time get the opportunity to drive important professional development tasks.

Your main task: CER and critical infrastructure

You will be the technical lead for the Prehospital Service's work with CER legislation on the resilience of critical entities. The work is expected to constitute a significant part of your working time in the coming years. It is carried out in collaboration with management, the Prehospital Service's operation areas, the Administration and external partners.

You will, among other things, map critical functions and dependencies, conduct risk and vulnerability analyses and contribute to developing, prioritizing and implementing concrete measures. You will thereby have the opportunity to help build and anchor an important professional area and translate the requirements of the legislation and analyses into solutions that work in practice.

Your other tasks

The position is a broad emergency preparedness consultant role. In addition to CER work you will, among other things, be involved in:

  • Emergency planning: Development, revision and implementation of operative plans, instructions and procedures
  • Education and exercises: Planning and execution of training activities within the emergency preparedness field as well as planning, execution and evaluation of emergency exercises
  • Crisis management and crisis room work: After training, able to join, for example, the local emergency management boards (LBS) and the Prehospital Service's crisis room
  • Authority cooperation: Collaboration with police, rescue services, the Danish Emergency Management Agency (Beredskabsstyrelsen), the Armed Forces, the Health Authority, hospitals, municipalities and other relevant partners
  • Cross-cutting emergency preparedness projects: Professional analyses, development tasks and initiatives that strengthen the emergency preparedness and support continued operations

The tasks range from operational to strategic. You will have a broad contact surface and must be able to create momentum, even when solutions need to be found in collaboration with others.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have several years of experience from the emergency preparedness field, for example from the Danish Emergency Management Agency, the prehospital area, the hospital sector, the Armed Forces or another organization with emergency-related tasks.

We would like you to have a relevant education at minimum bachelor level, for example as a Professional Bachelor's degree in Disaster and Risk Management. Another educational background combined with emergency management experience and the right competencies can also be relevant.

What we expect from you – and what you can learn with us

We do not expect you to know everything from day one, but we expect that the desire and ability to develop in the role is present.

We expect you can

  • Work independently, in a structured and analytical manner
  • Create an overview of complex issues and translate them into concrete solutions
  • Drive tasks and projects forward and create momentum in collaboration with others
  • Communicate clearly and build good relations across disciplines and organizations

We expect you have experience with

  • Emergency work from a relevant emergency organization
  • Emergency planning and understanding of the Danish emergency preparedness system
  • Collaboration across authorities and organizations

It is advantageous if you also have experience with risk and vulnerability analyses, exercise planning, critical infrastructure or continuity planning.

We will ensure you learn

  • Health preparedness and the organization, tasks and operational reality of the Prehospital Care
  • The Prehospital Service's work with CER legislation and the concrete methods and processes associated with the area
  • The special workflows, collaboration interfaces and operative functions you will need to participate in as part of the Department of Health Preparedness

We provide a thorough introduction and training so you have the necessary prerequisites to take on the tasks and develop in the position.

Your new workplace

The Department of Health Preparedness is part of the Prehospital Care in Region Midtjylland, which among other things is responsible for ambulances, rapid response vehicles and the prehospital effort. We work with emergency planning, crisis management and cross-regional and national collaboration. The department also handles Emergency Medical Coordination (B-AMK).

You will become part of a small department with a high level of professionalism, informal tone, short decision paths and a high level of trust in the individual. Here you can influence task solving and gain insight into both everyday emergency preparedness work and larger societal challenges.

Continuing education and professional development

We prioritize professional development and are open to continuing education and skills development, both internally in Region Midtjylland and externally, when it supports your tasks and your professional development.
