About the job

When the power goes out. When a building catches fire. When a serious incident requires swift action. Then it is essential that the plans work, the collaboration functions, and the organization is ready.

Therefore we are seeking an emergency preparedness coordinator who will help strengthen Vejen Municipality's emergency preparedness and resilience in a time when the demands on crisis management and public safety are greater than ever.

You will be the focal point for the municipality's work with emergency preparedness and crisis management in collaboration with our current emergency management staff member. You will play a central role in developing, coordinating and supporting emergency preparedness work across the entire organization and in collaboration with our partner municipalities as well as external actors such as TrekantBrand and South and West Jutland Police.

We are looking for a colleague who can both maintain an overview, create momentum and build strong relationships. A person who thrives on bringing people together around a common task and translating plans into practice. A person who will make a difference before the crisis arises.

You will among other things work with

  • Development and maintenance of the municipality's emergency and crisis plans.
  • Coordination and support of emergency preparedness work across the organization.

  • Collaboration with emergency services, authorities, utility companies and other partners.
  • Participation in relevant working groups, networks and committees.
  • Preparation of analyses, briefings and decision material.

  • Can translate plans and strategies into concrete solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for your tasks.

Therefore you should choose us

Imagine a job where your work helps create safety and security for citizens, businesses and colleagues throughout the municipality. As emergency preparedness coordinator you will have a central role in an area that has high political and managerial attention, and where you will have the opportunity to influence development in the coming years.

You will become part of an organization where we believe the best solutions are created in collaboration. Therefore we emphasize cooperation, dialogue and integrity. At the same time you will have great freedom to plan your own day and take responsibility for your tasks.

With us you get

  • Significant influence on the development of the municipality's emergency preparedness.
  • A varied daily routine with both strategic and operational tasks.
  • Opportunities for professional and personal development.
  • A strong multidisciplinary collaboration across the municipality.
  • Engaged colleagues with high professionalism and a good mood.
  • Flexible working conditions and freedom under responsibility.
  • A workplace where well-being and collaboration are prioritized.

About us

You will become part of Technical & Environment, where we work closely together to create good solutions for residents and businesses. We are about 95 employees spread over six divisions. You will be employed in the Building & Housing area in Team Building & Property Data, where there are currently nine employees handling tasks such as building case processing, BBR and urban renewal. The emergency area is already anchored in the team, where a colleague handles parts of the task and whom you will collaborate with. With this position, we further strengthen the effort with dedicated resources in the area.

As part of Team Building & Property Data you will have a diverse day with great independence and many points of contact. You will become part of an engaged community where we brainstorm with each other, share our knowledge and work together to create development in Vejen Municipality.

We believe in freedom with responsibility, flexibility and a good balance between professionalism and well-being. Therefore you will have the opportunity to take responsibility, develop your skills and put your own mark on the position.
