About the job

BI and Data Specialist for the Clinical Pharmacology Unit – permanent position and maternity cover.

Do you want to work with data, medicines and health – and help translate drug data into knowledge and action?

Would you like to work with data that makes a difference for patients and the health service?

The Clinical Pharmacology Unit at Aalborg University Hospital is seeking both a permanent committed BI and Data Specialist and a maternity cover who wants to become part of our interdisciplinary team and work with drug data, monitoring and implementation of national decisions in the field of medicines.

With us you get close to both data, medicines and the clinical reality. You will become part of a professional environment where we work together to ensure medicines are used rationally and in accordance with current recommendations.

Who are we?

The Clinical Pharmacology Unit is part of Aalborg University Hospital and consists of about 20 staff with different professional backgrounds.

We work among other things with

  • monitoring of drug consumption
  • analyses of the development in drug use
  • implementation and follow-up on decisions from the Medicines Council
  • drug advisory services and other clinical pharmacology tasks.

We work closely across professional boundaries. In the work with drug data, data specialists and doctors collaborate to translate data into analyses, knowledge and concrete actions.

We place emphasis on high professionalism, good collaboration and a daily life where there is also room for humor and good collegiality.

About the job

As a data manager you will be an important part of our work with drug data.

You will, among other things, be working with to

  • process and ensure the quality of drug data
  • monitor the development in the consumption of medicines
  • prepare reports and analyses of drug use
  • follow up on and support the implementation of the Medicines Council's decisions, including via contact with the clinical departments
  • develop and maintain data extracts and reporting
  • collaborate with doctors and other colleagues on interpretation and use of data
  • contribute to developing our methods and workflows
  • communicate data and results so they can be used in practice.

You will have the opportunity to work independently on your own tasks and participate in cross-disciplinary tasks with colleagues with different professional perspectives.

Who are you?

You have a relevant education and experience with data. It could be, for example, within data analysis, health sciences, statistics, economics, IT or another relevant area.

The most important for us is not necessarily your exact educational background, but that you:

  • are interested in data and can see the possibilities of using data to create knowledge
  • work in a structured way and have an eye for data quality
  • have analytical abilities and can approach complex problems with curiosity
  • can work independently and take responsibility for your tasks
  • thrive on collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines
  • can communicate data and results in a way that others can understand and use.

It is an advantage to have knowledge of medicines and the health care sector as well as experience with office tools, especially Excel, and the use of BI systems such as Targit, QLIK, Tableau, SAS or other relevant data and analytics tools – but it is not a requirement. You do not need to know everything from the start. The most important is that you are curious, analytical and eager to learn – and that you want to be part of a multidisciplinary team where we create results together.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Please indicate whether you are applying for the maternity cover or the permanent position.

There will be interviews in week 47.
