About the job

We are seeking bioanalysts (37 hours/week), but if you have another health professional education and the right attitude, we are also ready to train you for selected tasks.

Do you want to help our patients well on their way with high professionalism and the latest automated equipment?

At the Clinical Biochemistry Section in Hjørring we are 45 colleagues, who need you in our team. We produce every day professionally sharp analysis results, so our patients can continue with their treatment. It is important for us to contribute to the good patient pathways.

What your daily life will be like at our department

You meet many inpatients and outpatients, where you will take blood samples and ECGs. Therefore it is important that you have the desire to and a sense for patient contact. It also means that you will gain a large network at all the clinical departments you visit.

You will analyse blood, urine and feces samples on our automated analysis equipment. We have Atellica equipment that analyzes a large part of our biochemical and immunochemical analyses. For hematological samples we have Sysmex XR and for coagulation we have CS5100.

Besides the more routine analyses, we also have special analyses. We have among other things extensive knowledge and expertise in medication- and abuse analyses, which we perform for other hospitals in and outside the region.

We perform allergy analyses on Phadia ImmunoCAP equipment for Regionshospital Nordjylland and for the general practitioners in the entire North Jutland Region.

Around half of our production is blood samples from the general practitioners.

All 45 colleagues work in shifts. We have 3-shift shifts, with day, evening and night shifts. We are about 15 colleagues who manage the blood bank function and perform blood typing, BAC tests and Rotem and supply various blood products.

As a on-call bioanalyst you will be trained in either chemistry and immunochemistry analyses or coagulation and hematology analyses. Which of the two we decide when you start with us.

About you

We have the whole hospital as our workplace and therefore many different tasks, and we sometimes have quite a bit of busy times. Therefore you must thrive in a busy and changing everyday life.

You see the patients as the focal point and therefore always make an effort to ensure that the patients have a positive experience and experience an efficient patient pathway.

We seek colleagues who are responsible and quality-conscious, who have a high professional commitment and who thrive with the many different tasks we solve at the Clinical Biochemistry Section.

And of course we expect – as with all workplaces – that you are a positive and helpful colleague who contributes to our good working environment. We are indeed very happy with our working environment and protect it.

We can offer you

You will get an independent and challenging job in a department with high activity. But we will of course ensure that you are thoroughly trained and feel secure in your tasks.

In general, we place high priority on education, both yours and the students we have in the department.

We are known for having high ceilings, and that we take care of each other. This means, among other things, that we have short distance between management and employees, and we think it is exciting to try new ideas from employees.

It also means that we make an effort when we make work- and holiday plans so that it suits the individual’s family/free time as well as possible.

Who are we?

The Clinical Biochemistry Section is accredited according to ISO 15189 DANAK. We have specialized in allergy, misuse- and medication analysis and have the regional function for colorectal cancer screening. Annually we issue around 7 million analysis results. The services are performed for the hospital's clinical departments and the region's general practitioners.
