About the job

Do you want to take responsibility for your own buildings and help ensure good conditions for those who use them every day?

We are seeking at least one new colleague for our operations team in the Facilities and Maintenance Team.

As operations manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of municipal buildings and become the go-to construction expert around them. You monitor the condition of the buildings, prioritize maintenance needs and ensure that minor maintenance and construction tasks are planned and carried out.

The properties of Helsingør Municipality span a wide range from schools, day-care centers and administrative buildings to older, preservation-worthy and listed properties. The buildings were constructed in different periods for very different purposes, and the job therefore requires both technical understanding, good collaboration skills and the desire to find solutions that work in practice.

The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the property area, technical service staff, the users of the properties as well as external craftsmen and advisors.

Your responsibility

As building manager you will among other things

  • have the construction-technical responsibility for a number of selected municipal buildings
  • carry out building inspections, register and prioritise maintenance needs
  • prepare financial estimates for maintenance tasks
  • plan and implement maintenance tasks and smaller construction projects
  • manage your own tasks and projects of up to approx. 300,000 DKK
  • coordinate with users, our technical team, technical service staff, craftsmen, advisors and other partners
  • follow up on economy, time and quality
  • contribute your expertise to the development of our building operations

You will have great freedom to plan your work and make the professional decisions about your tasks. In return we expect you to take ownership, follow up and ensure that the tasks are brought to completion.

Who are you?

We imagine you have a trades background, preferably supplemented by a relevant further education such as a building constructor. The most important, however, is that you have a good construction-technical understanding and experience that enables you to assess a building and translate needs into concrete solutions.

We also place emphasis on the following

  • have experience with building operation and maintenance
  • can plan and drive smaller construction and maintenance tasks
  • work in a structured way and can keep track of budget, time and quality
  • are confident in your professional expertise and dare to make decisions
  • are good at communicating with users, colleagues, craftsmen and advisors
  • take initiative and see your tasks through to the end
  • thrive on responsibility and the freedom that comes with responsibility
  • contribute positively to collaboration and the working environment.

If you have an interest in or experience with heritage and protected buildings, that is an advantage.

What do you get with us?

You will become part of a property area with high professionalism and many different competencies. We believe the best solutions are created through professional sparring, collaboration and trust in the individual employee.

With us you get

  • great influence on your everyday work and your buildings
  • freedom with responsibility and trust in your professional expertise
  • professional sparring with colleagues with different construction-related competencies
  • opportunity for both professional and personal development
  • an informal workplace with room for humor and social community
  • flexitime and the possibility of home working up to two days per week
  • workplace in the heart of Helsingør's beautiful town center and close to the station.

The position is located in the Center for Economy and Properties. The center supports, serves and advises the Council, the management, the municipality's other centers and decentralised units in areas including finance and properties.

Practical information

The position is a full-time role with expected start of December 1, 2026. Salary is according to applicable collective agreement.

If you want to know more about the position, please contact the area manager Mathias Bleibach at tel. 25 31 24 45. Note that Mathias will be on holiday from October 8 to 18.

The application deadline is Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Interviews are expected to be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

The position is advertised via Helsingør Municipality's website under Vacancies by using the 'Search job' button in the job posting.
