Urban planner with a focus on the municipal plan

Do you want to plan for a municipality in strong development?

Can you manage urban planning in a reality where many challenges must be solved across sectors and actors? We are looking for a new urban planner who can steer projects, ensure progress and create engagement and shared professional practice across Hillerød Municipality.

Municipal Plan 2029 – be involved from the start

Next year we will prepare a planning strategy with the themes: Urban development in balance, Sustainable local- and city communities, Space for nature and clean water ahead of the revision of the municipal plan.

You will play a central role in that work in close collaboration with the project manager for Planning Strategy 2027 and Municipal Plan 2029 in relation to getting the plans adopted in an inclusive and cross-disciplinary process.

You will among other things be responsible for the theme Sustainable local- and city communities with a focus on life, the places where we live and meet in everyday life. Under this theme you will have the opportunity to work across many different disciplines on local cohesion, meeting places, proximity to services and mixed housing types for all ages.

We will work with strategy and guidelines for how we in Hillerød Municipality can preserve more and reuse the built square metres we already have for future city- and housing development. And we must ensure that the development of the municipality takes place in collaboration with and with respect for the existing local communities. It will be one of your main tasks to ensure progress and create shared engagement in that very work.

Your profile

We imagine that you

• have an academic education as urban planner e.g. architect
• have several years of experience with municipal planning
• can manage projects and ensure progress by creating engagement across disciplines
• are curious, collaborative and thrive in a professional environment where we spar with each other
• have an interest in co-creation with citizens and stakeholders
• have worked with QGIS and digital plans

Your new professional community

You will become part of the Urban Development section, which consists of 15 skilled colleagues with different disciplines. We work among other things with urban development projects, municipality- and local planning and environmental assessment.

We are part of the Department of Town and Environment, where cross-disciplinary collaboration is a natural part of everyday life. You will have Section Leader Hans Brigsted as your immediate supervisor.

Our workplace is a modern town hall characterized by open office landscapes with the option to retreat to quiet rooms as needed. Depending on tasks there is the option to work from home 1-2 days a week. It is easy to reach here by bike or public transport. If you come by car, we have free parking at the town hall. In addition, we have lovely outdoor areas, a good canteen and exercise during working hours.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the salary is negotiated with the trade union body authorized to negotiate. The position is 37 hours, and we wish to fill it from 1 February 2027.
