About the job

We are looking for two consultants for the sickness benefits initiative in Tårnby Municipality – with a particular focus on, respectively, young people and people on sickness absence from unemployment.

Do you want to work with conversations that create motivation, and plans that turn into action? Do you have an eye for people’s resources, and are you motivated to develop them together with the citizen? Then we would like to hear from you.

With us, we work purposefully with realistic job goals and concrete plans that should help people return to the labor market on a lasting basis. It requires that we are curious about the citizen’s situation, see possibilities and together find the next steps – even when illness and other challenges make the path difficult.

Freedom entails obligation – help shape the future of the effort

The employment reform gives greater professional latitude and fewer process requirements. With the new main act on an active employment effort, which is expected to take effect on January 1, 2027, we take another step in the development of the employment effort.

It sets new demands on us as employees and colleagues. We must use our professional judgment, create meaningful processes, and take responsibility for ensuring that the effort helps the citizen forward.

Based on the reform, we in the Center for Employment and Citizen Services have prepared common competence and function descriptions for the future employment worker. Here, professionalism, relationships and collaboration are central. We believe that all people have resources to contribute, and that belief must be reflected in our conversations, plans and decisions.

Two positions with each a main focus

Both positions involve working with all types of cases in the sickness benefits effort. You will be part of the shared task solution, while you will have a special main focus on either young people or people on sickness absence from unemployment.

With main focus on young people

You should want to work with young people who are on sickness absence and help them identify their own resources, find a direction, and take steps toward work or education.

Young people receive a lot of attention in Tårnby. We are part of the national Ungeløftet and work locally with Tårnbyløftet, where the municipality, businesses and civil society collaborate to help more young people into jobs, education and meaningful communities.

In 2027 we also expect to start a project with the Social Investment Fund focusing on young people. You will therefore have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our youth-focused effort and to the collaboration on new opportunities for individuals.

With main focus on those on sickness absence from unemployment

You should want to help citizens return to the labor market when there is no workplace to return to.

Together with the citizen you will explore how experiences, competencies and resources can be brought into play in new job opportunities. You must be able to create motivation and translate possibilities into realistic job goals and concrete steps in close collaboration with, among others, business consultants.

You reach out and make the collaboration work

We will in the future work even more cross-professionally. Therefore we seek colleagues who see cross-disciplinary collaboration as a natural part of the task and take the initiative to involve other professional fields.

This means that you reach out to colleagues in other centers and to external partners when the citizen’s situation calls for it. You are curious about what others can contribute, share your own knowledge and take responsibility to ensure that the efforts hang together.

The citizen should experience a common direction and clear agreements, even when multiple professionals are involved.

From good conversations to concrete steps

Regardless of your main focus, you will

  • Hold motivating and job-oriented conversations that help the citizen see opportunities and act on them.
  • Spot and develop resources together with the citizen.
  • Prepare realistic job goals and concrete plans with clear agreements and follow-up.
  • Initiate and coordinate relevant efforts and adjust them when needed.
  • Collaborate across centers and with businesses, health professionals and other partners.
  • Make professional assessments and make well-founded, understandable decisions.
  • Ensure relevant documentation and monitor whether the effort leads to development.

Who are you?

You have a relevant social work, employment/occupational or other relevant educational background and preferably experience from the employment area.

It is important to us that you want to actively work to create development together with people. You can listen, motivate and challenge respectfully, and you hold fast to the direction, even when progress takes time.

We also place emphasis on that you

  • Can balance an appreciative approach with a clear authority role.
  • Navigate in the legislation with the citizen’s legal security in mind.
  • Work in a structured way and take responsibility for progress and quality.
  • Seek collaboration and sparring and invite others into the task solution.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, both verbally and in writing.
  • Are curious about new approaches and want to contribute to translating the employment reform into practice.

A team with shared responsibility

With us, we prioritize professionalism, well-being and a good collegial community. We have an informal tone and emphasize being present together at the workplace, where we share knowledge, spar with difficult assessments and help each other in daily life.

Throughout the center we work with a common pit-stop strategy, where we periodically stop, share experiences and adjust our efforts. This helps us maintain a common focus and direction across teams and professions.

Excellent customer service is part of our core task. We focus on the good citizen journey, where citizens experience coherence, clear communication and readily available help. Therefore we also work until 6 p.m. on Thursdays, so we are available for citizens.

You get a clear authority responsibility, professional latitude and the possibility to influence the effort you become part of. We provide introduction and training based on your experience.

The practical

Both positions are on 37 hours per week , with working hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays.

Please indicate in your application whether you are particularly interested in the youth area, the work with the sick-listed from unemployment, or both positions.
