About the job

We are seeking a chief for our Establishment Partner Element Hjørring to support Hjørring Garrison as well as the depot structure etc. in Denmark.

About us

The Establishment and Terrain Command at the Danish Defence Command (formerly the Defence Agency) has 28 (soon 29) Establishment Partner Elements, distributed across the Defence Ministry’s service locations as well as the Emergency Management Agency’s locations, where we aim to ensure an improved strengthened local presence, contact and proximity to users. We are independently responsible for building operations and minor maintenance tasks.

Our role is to support the service site managers with establishment operations and development of the service site. Locally, the partner element is the service site’s and users’ primary entry point for requesting services from the Establishment and Terrain Command.

Our tasks include handling all types of user inquiries, initiating purchases, practical operations and maintenance tasks, supporting events, supervision, quality assurance, goods reception, etc. In short, we handle all questions, inquiries or matters related to running premises under the Defence Ministry.

The Establishment Partner Element Hjørring is tasked with supporting the command’s own headquarters at Hjørring Garrison, as well as the decentralised depot structure for the entire Defence sector, coastal radars and rescue stations in the country, etc.

Your fixed place of employment will be in Hjørring.

About the position

As the chief of the establishment partner element, you report to the Area Chief Major Nikolaj Dalbjerg Sørensen, who is also responsible for several other Establishment Partner Elements.

Your main task as chief of the partner element is to ensure that establishments meet the necessary needs of the employees and units at the establishment that the partner element is responsible for supporting. The focus is on ensuring service deliveries to the units and users, as well as supporting colleagues in the command with local knowledge.

You will be responsible for the daily management of the element’s staff.

Additionally, in close cooperation with the current service site chief and other customers you will be responsible for:

  • Daily initiation of tasks.
  • Prioritisation and management of facility management services.
  • Establishment operations.
  • Building maintenance and technical projects.
  • Preparing local operating plans based on local conditions.
  • Complying with and ensuring follow-up on the Establishment Partner Element’s allocated budgets.
  • Ensuring that task solutions are conducted within the command’s approved operating manual and procurement processes.

You will handle personnel-related tasks, including developing and optimizing the element’s internal processes and task execution, as well as ensuring relevant competency development, conducting development, FOKUS and salary discussions. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of tasks spanning leadership and operations to financial follow-up and user satisfaction. The range of your collaboration interfaces is broad, which provides great dynamics in everyday life.

You will as chief be responsible for control and goods reception of deliveries from external suppliers, including local follow-up on complaints, faults and defects, and taking responsibility for the problem-solving process in case of disputes and handling of local complaints.

You will likewise be the command’s local representation at the establishments, with in-depth knowledge to ensure solid support for users. There will be a fair amount of meeting activity with the chief and other users in this context.

Travel activity is to be expected in connection with central meetings at the Establishment and Terrain Command, which will take place at establishments around the country. A smaller part of the work may fall outside normal working hours.

It is a requirement that you have experience with establishment operations, as well as knowledge of customer and supplier relations in connection with handling external suppliers.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Defence Ministry’s group, public administration and the Defence Administration’s practices.
