About the job
Become part of the overall management for the acute and subacute functions at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center (BUC).
We are seeking a Chief Nurse for a newly created position.
Do you want to help set the professional direction and create engagement among staff in the subacute pillar? You will be part of a multidisciplinary duo leadership with responsibility for three teams – Center for Suicide Prevention Competence Center, the Acute Team and the Team for Self-Harm.
The duo leadership consists of you as Chief Nurse and the ward-leading Specialist Psychologist Lea Ising. Together with the duo leadership for the acute pillar, Chief Physician Helene Grønning and Chief Nurse Camilla Rodenkam Simonsen you have the overall responsibility for the acute and subacute functions under Department Day/Night.
We focus on high professionalism and close interdisciplinary collaboration – always with the young people and their families at the center.
Your areas of responsibility
Staff management: Your foremost task will be to support and develop both the individual employee and the entire staff group in lifting the core tasks and ensuring well-being in the subacute teams.
Clinical leadership: You have a central responsibility for the clinical quality in the subacute teams. The task includes triage and prioritization of tasks, ongoing professional sparring with the staff and support for complex patient pathways. You contribute to ensuring uniformly high quality in documentation, treatment planning and clinical practice, as well as to the implementation of new professional initiatives and treatment methods. In addition, you support collaboration with other departments in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center, municipal caseworkers and other partners.
Operations leadership : You should support a culture where staff actively participate in and contribute to the development of the department as well as to the continued safeguarding of high professional quality with an eye for operations and the unit’s population responsibility.
Strategic leadership: You will, together with the rest of the department leadership under B205, ensure that the center’s strategies are translated into concrete practice.
Clinical work : The position is closely linked to clinical practice in the subacute teams. You will participate in the treatment work with children and adolescents with complex psychiatric issues and their families and at the same time contribute to interdisciplinary assessments, treatment pathways and development tasks. The clinical function provides an important foundation for the professional leadership role and for the continued development of the subacute offerings.
About B205
B205 consists of two pillars – an acute and a subacute pillar. The acute pillar consists of the acute ward and PAM function and the subacute pillar consists of the three described teams.
Acute Ward is the country’s only acute receiving ward for children and adolescents under 18. It is a closed 24-hour ward with 10 beds. Here, short, intensive trajectories are carried out for youths with acute psychiatric issues, including suicidal behavior, psychotic states, mannerisms, affective states, etc. The ward involves family and networks and works recovery-oriented with a strong focus on preventative measures against coercion, including patient involvement and safewards principles as an integrated part of the treatment.
Acute Team is a supplementary service to the acute psychiatric hospital treatment at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center. The Acute Team offers a rapid and flexible response to children and adolescents with acute psychiatric issues and can in some cases prevent hospitalization.
The team is currently facing a capacity expansion and will also play a central role in a new initiative for children and adolescents with particularly complex psychiatric problems. Here, the team will during limited periods be able to take over treatment responsibility with a view to evaluation, clarification and planning of the further treatment pathway, when existing interventions in the center have not been sufficient.
Center for Suicide Prevention (KFS) KFS offers outpatient treatment to children and adolescents with suicidal thoughts, suicidal behavior or suicide attempts, and their families within 14 days after referral to the team. The team is currently implementing CAMS-4Teens (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality for Teens), which will become the central treatment method in the team. KFS also handles teaching and advisory tasks and supports development and research activities within the suicide prevention area in collaboration with regional and national partners.
Team for Self-Harm Team for Self-Harm offers specialized outpatient treatment for children and adolescents with self-harming behavior. Much of the treatment is based on ERITA (Emotion Regulation Individual Therapy for Adolescents). The team also offers individual treatment pathways and provides supervision and professional sparring to both inpatient and outpatient units across the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center.
