About the job
Would you like to be part of a well-functioning interdisciplinary leadership team? Then you should apply for this Head Nurse position at Rehabilitation for Brain and Nerve Diseases at Grindsted Hospital. We are seeking a committed head nurse with good collaboration skills, available from 1.2.27 or by agreement, who will help shape and further develop a team of engaged and competent staff who are passionate about neurology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a good working environment.
You will become part of a visionary interdisciplinary leadership team that is focused on creating good patient pathways for patients and their relatives, as well as maintaining a positive working environment and job satisfaction in a changing daily life.
Who are we?
Rehabilitation for Brain and Nerve Diseases is a specialized department in Region of Southern Denmark with regional function status. We have room for 30 inpatients undergoing an intensive neurorehabilitation program. Our patients, aged 18 and older, require an interdisciplinary team effort where professional expertise and engagement are at the top. We primarily receive our patients from the neurological departments at Esbjerg, Kolding and Aabenraa hospitals, as well as from Hammel Neurocenter. The average length of stay with us is 25 days.
You will be the immediate supervisor for about 24 nurses and 22 social and health care assistants, and will lead in collaboration with the chief therapist and the chief physician in charge of a multidisciplinary team, where the remaining professional groups consist of 10 occupational therapists, 10 physiotherapists, 3 doctors, 2 neuropsychologists, 2 secretaries, and 3 speech therapists. In our department we have students and trainees from the respective professional groups.
In our unit, professional expertise, collaboration, communication, and coordination go hand in hand. The core task is to create good patient pathways.
We work from the Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital strategy, which shapes the daily approach to nursing. We have a particular focus on patient and relative involvement.
We have large ambitions for Rehabilitation for Brain and Nerve Diseases and are active in learning, development, and research. It is important for us to develop our staff so they have the opportunity to participate in specialty-related training with internal and external speakers.
In connection with the Health Reform, which comes into force on 1.1.27, the authority for rehabilitation plans at a specialized level shifts from municipalities to the region, and we therefore take responsibility for the specialized rehabilitation in Region of Southern Denmark in collaboration with Svendborg Neurorehabilitation. There are many exciting tasks ahead in the coming year, and you will be part of it, helping to shape/develop to create good patient pathways
As head nurse, you will have personnel responsibility within your area, including staff development/MUS meetings, care and leadership conversations. You will be responsible for planning attendance, compensatory time, and vacation within the given financial and collective agreement frameworks. In daily work, it is important to prioritize good collaboration with the occupational health and safety representatives, as well as involving staff in development initiatives.
You are responsible for the nursing professional development in close collaboration with the clinical nursing specialist, who will assist you both in single-discipline and multidisciplinary contexts.
You will participate in a committed management collaboration and partnership with the chief physician and the chief therapist, who lead the ergonomics and physiotherapists. Together you share responsibility for coordinating and organizing the efforts for the patients, considering patient safety, working environment, and clinical quality. In addition, ensure that resources are used optimally and that applicable rules, regulations, and instructions are followed.
You report to the Department Management, which consists of the Chief Nurse, the Chief Physician, and the Chief Therapist in a multidisciplinary context.
