About the position

As an advisor in the Disability Team you will be part of a professionally strong team that works purposefully to support children and young people with disabilities in their well-being, development and opportunities for participation in everyday life.

You will be responsible for authority tasks concerning children and young people with physical, mental or cognitive disabilities and their families. The tasks are wide-ranging and include, among other things:

  • Hold dialogue-based notification meetings and family deliberations.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with, among others, schools, kindergartens, the health service and specialized offers.
  • Preparation of recommendations to the Children and Young People Committee.

Our approach

In the Disability Team we meet families with an acknowledging, curious and respectful approach. We see the children, the young people and their families as central partners and base our work on their perspectives, resources and wishes for the future.

We work with a focus on legal compliance, high professional quality and systematic case handling. At the same time, we recognize that families with children with disabilities often face complex life situations where coordination, clear communication and holistic solutions are crucial.

We use ICS as a social-work method and DUBU as a professional system. In addition, we work purposefully with family deliberation as an important method for involvement.

We imagine that you

  • are educated as social worker or social mediator.
  • have interest in or experience with the specialized pediatric disability area.
  • have knowledge of or a desire to work with disability-compensating interventions and children with functional impairments.
  • can build trustful relationships with children, young people and their families.
  • see involvement and collaboration as a prerequisite for good solutions.
  • work in a structured, systematic and holistic way.
  • have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • thrive in interdisciplinary collaborations and actively contribute to joint professional development.
  • contribute positively to a good work environment and a strong collegial culture.

We offer

  • a meaningful position where you make a tangible difference for children and young people with disabilities.
  • a specialized professional field with exciting and complex tasks.
  • a structured induction program and mentor scheme.
  • proficient and engaged colleagues with high professional standards.
  • ongoing professional sparring, supervision and skills development.
  • present and accessible management.
  • flexible working conditions with a flexitime arrangement.
  • fruit and health scheme.
  • good opportunities for both professional and personal development.
