About us

Dagplejen in Vejen Municipality is part of Early Childhood, Health Visiting & PPU, where we have a strong focus on shared professionalism and coherence thinking for the benefit of the citizens.

Dagplejen consists of about 100 Dagplejers (day carers), who create safe and developing learning environments for about 350 children, as well as a guest house located in Vejen town. The Dagplejers are supported and supervised by 5 Dagplejepædagoger (day care pedagogues), in addition Dagplejen consists of 1 staff and pedagogical manager, 1 secretary, and 1 head of Dagplejen. In addition, we approve and supervise private care arrangements in Vejen Municipality.

Everyday life in Dagplejen takes its starting point from Vejen Municipality’s NASA values and a cohesive policy for children and young people aged 0-18. We work cross-functionally to create the best conditions for all children, and we have a strong focus on maintaining a strong professional culture. We continuously work on translating the strengthened pedagogical curriculum into meaningful, practical and pedagogical learning environments with respect for the Dagplejers’ homes.

We work based on neuropsychological relational pedagogy, and we are focused on play as the central element to strengthen the child’s attachment, self-regulation and interaction.

Your primary tasks

• To support the Dagplejers in their pedagogical work with the children through systematic observations as well as sparring and guidance.
• To supervise the children’s well-being and the Dagplejers’ practice and competencies.
• Through collaboration with the Dagplejers, to contribute to maintaining and/or supporting the children’s well-being and development, including contributing to a high degree of parental involvement.
• To initiate and follow up on pedagogical initiatives in playrooms.
• To plan and hold various meetings for Dagplejers and for parents.
• To plan and hold MUS (employee development interviews) and TUS (team development interviews) for Dagplejers.
• Administrative work – including joining the morning duty from 5:30 a.m. for about 2 days a week and the office’s phone duty in the afternoon, about 1 day a week.

Important qualifications and competencies

• You have a pedagogical education with experience/knowledge of the development of 0–3 year olds.
• You are relationship-building – you can create and promote good professional relations and are a clear role model.
• You work in a structured and independent manner and are able to collaborate broadly with a coordinating function across professional groups.
• You can handle pressured situations and have many balls in the air without losing sight of what is essential.
• You have a flair for IT.
• You can express yourself professionally, both in writing and orally.
• You are conscious of the core task and have the courage to reflect on your own and others’ practice.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 30 hours per week and to be filled by January 1, 2027.

The workplace is Vejen Municipality’s Area Office in Brørup, Stadionvej 15, 6650 Brørup.

As a Dagplejepædagog you work geographically across the entire municipality. The supervision which will be your primary task takes place in the Dagplejers’ own homes and in playrooms. Therefore you must have a driver’s license. A service car can be made available.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with applicable collective agreement.

Employment is contingent upon obtaining satisfactory child and criminal record checks.
