A varied job

As a club coordinator, you will, together with a colleague, share responsibility for setting the leisure- and youth-educational direction in our junior and youth clubs. You will not personally be a pedagogue in the club, but you must be strong in your professional field and have the ability to equip the staff in the clubs for the task and role they have, which is often not pedagogically educated.

We focus on ensuring coherence between general SSP prevention and the well-being-promoting work in club settings. In addition, you will work with well-being-promoting messaging to students and parents, events for youths, and develop new ideas that continually emerge in interaction with children/youths, parents and partners.

Your day-to-day life will be characterized by a large portion of your work taking place outside the house – e.g., at schools and in clubs. At the same time, you will experience that you never work alone, as we together make things succeed.

Examples of your tasks

• Responsible for junior and youth clubs, including contact with club staff and holding club meetings.
• Develop, plan and coordinate the leisure-educational effort, leisure activities and preventive measures.
• Presence at schools and contact with school staff, students and parents.
• Give talks and facilitate dialogue on well-being-promoting and crime-prevention topics for students and parents in 7th grade.
• Communicate UngHerning's offers and opportunities all the way out to youths, parents and partners.
• Collaborative work on the team’s development and focus areas.
• Translate ideas into projects and anchor these in the organization.

We imagine you fit approximately this description

We need a club coordinator who is a trained pedagogue and has strong pedagogical experience and knowledge about working with youths and leisure pedagogy. You will work independently and it requires that you can keep many balls in the air. By that we mean that your tasks will be many and varied, while the to-do list constantly changes. To succeed in the job, it requires that you thrive in a changing workday, are structured, can handle daily disturbances and still manage to follow your appointments and tasks to the letter.

In addition, we value that you

• Have experience in guiding others within the leisure-pedagogical area.
• Have an eye for and interest in youths' well-being, the importance of communities and youth culture.
• Are a skilled communicator and enjoy it, as you will need to stand in front of larger assemblies, e.g. when conveying SSP topics to students and parents.
• Are a strong relationship builder and can create broad collaboration
• Are able to be clear at the head of the table during club meetings to create direction, coordination and engagement.
• Can take on the facilitator role, as your primary tasks are to set the framework for leisure pedagogy, activities and staff.
• Can manage and administer the daily operation of the clubs, including duty rosters and salaries.
• Are prepared for a occasionally changing everyday life, which requires flexibility in both working hours and tasks.

Knowledge of the youth school area is a plus.

Because some of your tasks take place outside school opening hours, you should expect evening work 2 days a week, planned in collaboration with your colleagues. In addition, you should expect other weekend activity.

UngHerning is Herning Municipality's youth school offering for children and youths between 10 and 18 years old. In addition to clubs and leisure activities, UngHerning also includes full-time education as well as SSP. UngHerning has its base at Gl. Skolevej in Herning, where you will have your workplace, but activities across the municipality.

Employment terms

• Salary and employment terms are agreed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

• The position is full-time, and flexibility regarding working hours is expected.
• It is necessary to have a driver's license and your own car. The government’s low mileage rate is paid for travel allowance.
