Commercial Business Controller – Media & Operations

ISA Media Group seeks a strong and hands-on Commercial Business Controller who can take ownership of financial control, partner management, reporting and the commercial operations across our business.

We are a small international media company with activities in Advertising, Publishing, Creative and Digital, with teams in Copenhagen and Dubai.

We collaborate with Børsen, Jyllands-Posten, Politiken, Ekstra Bladet, Berlingske and Egmont, among others.

You will become a central sparring partner and co-pilot for the CEO and COO and must ensure that the numbers, processes and follow-up work.

Your responsibility

You will be the link between our media partners, sales, management, production and bookkeeping.

Media partners

You will have ongoing administrative and financial contact with our media partners and will be responsible for, among other things:

• Budgets and sales targets
• Opening and closing of the sales year and periods
• Administration and delivery of bookings
• Reconciliation of bookings and turnover
• Changes and cancellations
• Partner settlements
• Invoicing basis
• Follow-up on variances and outstanding items
• Ensuring correct contracts, prices and terms

You must be able to communicate professionally with both sales, finance and contact persons at our partners.

Finance & Operations

Internally you must ensure control throughout the process

Sales → Booking → Production → Delivery → Invoicing → Payment → Commission → Reporting

Your tasks include, among others

• Invoicing basis and invoice control
• Vendor invoices and payments
• Payroll basis
• Commissions and bonuses
• Partner and supplier invoices
• Coordination with our bookkeeper
• Follow-up on debtors
• Control of sold, invoiced and paid revenue
• Procurement and administrative supplier agreements

Business Control & Reporting

CEO and COO must always be able to see how the business performs.

You will be responsible for creating a simple and accurate management overview of, among other things:

• Revenue versus target
• YTD vs last year
• Forecast and pipeline
• New sales, upsell/cross-sell and winback
• Performance per partner
• Performance per product and business area
• Sold vs. invoiced vs. paid
• Receivables and variances
• Period results and annual forecasts

CRM & Excel

You must be very strong in Excel and comfortable with CRM and financial systems.

You are expected to be able to

• Work with larger data sets
• Build budgeting and reporting models
• Reconcile data across different systems
• Identify errors and missing registrations
• Ensure high data quality
• Optimize workflows and processes

Advanced Excel is a requirement.

Business Controller · Commercial Controller · Revenue Controller · Finance Business Partner · Financial Controller

Experience from the media industry, publishing, advertising, agencies or other sales-driven project businesses is expected.

Relevant higher education in economics, business, finance or accounting is a clear advantage

About the role

We are not a large corporate organization.

That means you must both be able to analyze the numbers and implement things yourself.

One day you may sit with the annual budget together with a media partner, the next verify commissions, reconcile invoicing or ensure that a sales period is correctly closed.

It is precisely the breadth and ownership that make the role central.
