Raklev Church in Kalundborg Diocese, Roskilde Stift, is seeking a skilled and dedicated organist/church musician for employment

The position is 15 hours per week, from December 15, 2026 – August 15, 2027. The position is under a collective agreement.

About the position

We are looking for an organist/church musician who can perform the organist duties, including church ceremonies, nursing home services, and events in the parish during the week. There is another organist employed at the church who handles services on Sundays and holidays.

About us

Raklev Church dates from 1547 and is likely the first church built after the Reformation. After a renovation in 2010, with a new glass mosaic and color design by the artist Maja Lisa Engelhardt, it presents itself as a bright and inviting space, as if created to be filled with hymn singing and music. The church and the parish house provide a framework for a rich music and cultural life, and we cherish both the classical church music repertoire and new musical expressions.

We are a workplace with engaged colleagues and a good, cheerful tone, located in beautiful scenic surroundings, but only 3 km to Kalundborg Station.

The church organ

The organ was built by Gunnar Fabricius Husted in 1985. It has 17 well-sounding stops distributed on the pedal and 2 manuals with the possibility of divided registration in the swell wind chest.

In addition, the church has a Yamaha Clavinova 503 electric piano with a wealth of good sampled instruments and the possibility of recording up to 16 tracks.

Employment terms

Employment takes place with Raklev Parish Council located at Raklev Skillevej 1, 4400 Kalundborg.

Employment of a church musician will be covered by the Common Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and CO10 and the organizational agreement between the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 for church officials with core duties such as sexton, church and culture worker or church musician and the accompanying protocol for church musicians.

Hiring an organist with a degree in “Church Musician with Organ and Choir Conducting” or an organist with a PO degree is covered by the Agreement between the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010.

Organists with a church music master's or bachelor's degree are covered by the protocol to the academic agreement on the employment of DOKS organists and permanent teachers at church music schools, concluded between the Academics and the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs.

The annual salary for a church musician is negotiated within the range of DKK 333,748 – 475,590 (current prices). There is a standby obligation to the position. The standby allowance constitutes DKK 27,641 per year (current prices).

OK allowance of DKK 1,082 (current prices).

An agreement on placement within the salary range is concluded between the parish council and the Danish Church Musicians Association prior to employment.

The annual salary for applicants with a church music master's degree (DOKS) is negotiated according to the new pay AC scale. That is a gross salary between DKK 363,169 – 442,529 per year (current prices).

There is a standby obligation to the position. The standby allowance is annually between DKK 46,727 – 72,573 (current prices). Placement and standby allowance are awarded according to seniority. Additionally, qualification and function allowances may be offered after local negotiation.

The annual salary for applicants with a church musician degree in organ and choral conducting (formerly PO organists) is negotiated according to the agreed basic pay grade system. Basic grade 1 is DKK 350,435 annually (current prices) and basic grade 2 is DKK 368,189 annually (current prices). Placement occurs according to seniority.

There is a standby obligation to the position. The standby allowance is annually DKK 29,666 (current prices) for service at 1 church.

Salary, OK allowance, and standby allowance are prorated in accordance with the position's appointment fraction.
