Contract Managers

We are the backbone of Odense city’s public transport , connecting the city’s many hubs and offering a comfortable, efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transport. Passenger numbers have surpassed 7 million annually and are continuing to grow. Now the Odense City Council has decided to establish Phase 2 and has chosen Odense Light Rail as the executing company.

It is crucial for the project’s success that there is alignment between the procurement strategy, contract models, market dialogue/market scanning, risk management and requirements management (time and cost) in the contracts. The process has been started with external advisers, and you, as Contract Manager, will drive the process forward in collaboration with the advisers.

We are a smaller organization, but the light rail is very visible in city life, and many have opinions about how the light rail should work. If you are drawn to a socially valuable task, a varied daily life and ambitious goals, then the light rail is just right for you.

Varun Sivapalan, the construction director for Odense Light Rail, expresses it like this

” First and foremost I need a Contract Manager who has tried most things in the role before - it’s important that we implement the procurement strategy. You should also be constructive, pragmatic and able to contribute where needed. And you should ideally enjoy working in a smaller organization with a very large task ahead.”

As Contract Manager you will contribute to the execution and further development of the procurement strategy. Odense Light Rail is a smaller organization, and the role also includes tasks for the operations organization in relation to procurement, contract management, claims management and general legal support.

About you

We are seeking a profile with experience from large, complex procurement and contract processes – preferably from major construction projects.

The position is multi-faceted and therefore calls for a Contract Manager who spans a wide range of behaviors. We do not expect you to know everything, but we will assess candidates on the following:

• You display constructive collaboration skills with colleagues, project managers, advisers and suppliers.
• You have sharp written and oral communication skills.
• You are structured, robust and quality-conscious – and able to drive parallel tracks without losing overview.
• You thrive in an environment where there is little distance from idea to decision – and where you become part of a productive, agile environment.
• You clearly prioritise and can focus on what is important
• You are proficient in both written and spoken Danish and English at negotiation level.

And we are open to hiring more Contract Managers if we find the right ones.
