About the job

Brøndby Municipality purchases more than DKK 1 billion every year. We have good agreements in place, but far too often they are not used. It is money that could have gone to warm hands in elder care, better conditions in schools, and stronger efforts for children and young people.

We want to change that. And we know that it can be done. Our first Contract Manager has in just one year shown that systematic contract management yields results that can be felt on the bottom line. Now we are stepping up and looking for two new Contract Managers.

Are you the type who cannot leave a spreadsheet until you have figured out why the numbers do not add up? Do you get energy from sitting across from a supplier and knowing that you have control over both terms and arguments? And would you like to see that your work makes a real difference for the citizens?

Then you are the one we are looking for.

A job with visible results

As a Contract Manager you will be the one ensuring that the gains we have negotiated through tenders and agreements also become real in everyday life. You will have high autonomy to look across the entire municipality and target the places where the potential is greatest, where we buy outside agreements, pay too much, or where suppliers do not live up to what was agreed.

You will work with contracts ranging from the technical area to goods and services, and you will be an important sparring partner for managers and employees in the departments and institutions. It is not about wagging a finger, but about making it easy to do the right thing.

The position is anchored in Procurement & Purchasing and Control under the Finance Department.

What you will do

  • Go on a hunt in contracts and purchasing data and identify areas where we do not get the full value of our agreements.
  • Hold suppliers to the agreed prices, discounts, delivery terms and quality.
  • Negotiate, adjust and renegotiate agreements when there is money or quality to gain.
  • Advise and equip the departments and decentralized units to use the right agreements and the municipality's procurement system.
  • Translate analyses into concrete gains and document the results you create.
  • Be involved in building the municipality's future model for contract management, including processes, tools and workflows.
  • Work closely with our tender consultants so that your experience makes the next tenders even better.

Is that you?

If you already have several years of experience with contracts, purchasing, tenders or negotiations, here you have the opportunity to use your experience where it makes the biggest difference and leave your mark on a professional area we are in the process of building up. You will not receive a finished playbook. You will have the opportunity to help write it.

We imagine that you

  • have experience with contract management, purchasing, tenders, negotiation or supplier follow-up
  • are analytically sharp and can translate numbers and data into action
  • can build good relationships while standing firm when it comes to
  • work in a structured and independent manner and are driven by seeing results

You may come from a position as contract manager, buyer, tender consultant, lawyer, economist, controller or something completely different, in the public sector or in the private sector. Knowledge of public procurement, joint procurement agreements or IT and technical contracts is a plus, but the most important is your drive and your desire to make a difference.

You will become part of a fast-moving team

Procurement & Purchasing and Control is a team in strong growth, where there is a short path from idea to action. Today we are eleven colleagues with wide-ranging expertise, four working on control of social fraud, two on procurement, one on controlling and insurance and one on sustainable purchasing and e-commerce. In addition, we have a social-legal contract negotiator who works with placement offers for youths, and a Contract Manager who primarily works with housing for adults and IT contracts.

As of January 1 we will have a new tender consultant and with you two we will be fourteen. You will have colleagues who share knowledge, help each other and take pride in each other’s results.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and qualifications.

The position is 37 hours with flexible working hours. The workplace is Brøndby Town Hall.
