Create structure and safe experiences for a boy

Are you a trained pedagogue and experienced with children with developmental disorders? Here you have the opportunity to create safe environments and good experiences for a boy who loves play and outdoor life.

About the task

We are looking for a pedagogue for a sweet and loving boy who enjoys cars, tractors and bike rides. He likes being outdoors, and together you can play, go to the local playground or come up with other activities based on his interests.

The boy has a developmental disorder and a cognitive impairment, which among other things affects his speech, understanding and ability to regulate emotions. He needs clear boundaries, repetitions and predictability, as changes, demands and many impressions can be difficult for him to handle. In stressful situations, he can react outwardly and therefore needs help to regain calm.

Your task will be to create structure around your time together, including by preparing a fixed daily plan and using pictograms. You must be able to adjust expectations and activities to his capacity, support him in transitions and be aware of when he needs breaks or help with regulation. At the same time, you should create room for play, movement and presence at a pace that suits him.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue and have experience with children with developmental disorders and cognitive impairments. You are used to working with structure, visual support and clear communication and can plan activities so that they become manageable and safe.

You have a calm and validating approach and can maintain an overview when the boy is challenged. You are clear in your framing, good at adjusting demands and are keen to actively participate in play and outdoor activities.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license, but it is not a requirement.

Working hours

The position is 6 hours per week, as a general rule distributed over two shifts of 3 hours each.

The family would like one shift every other week on weekends of 3–4 hours. The remaining hours are predominantly in weekday afternoons.

There is flexibility regarding days of the week and times, which are agreed with the family.
