About the job and the tasks

We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about teaching and the public school system.

We need an outgoing and energetic person who actively contributes to the development of our learning environment, and who has the necessary professional and pedagogical tools to promote learning and well-being among the pupils.

The work will take place in close collaboration with colleagues and management, where teamwork is essential. There are planned weekly year-group team meetings.

About the school

Kastrupgårdsskolen is a school with 2-3 streams in the sweet spot of Tårnby Municipality. We have 0-9 classes as well as a special group arrangement from 0th to 9th grade.

We are about 140 professionally strong teacher and pedagogical colleagues, with an ambitious approach to daily tasks as well as a collaborative and team-oriented approach to all our students’ learning and well-being.

The staff are organized in year-group and subject teams. We have a strong collegial cohesion and a high professional level with a focus on guiding one another in everyday life. We work day-to-day with a focus on creating the best academic and social participation opportunities for all our pupils. We emphasize close parent collaboration, as we view it as a prerequisite for the pupils’ well-being and development.

As a public school in Tårnby Municipality we work with elements from the municipal strategy for strong child communities. We daily base our work on the school's three values Helpfulness, Courage, and Community .

The school has a mentoring scheme, which is part of our strategy for welcoming new colleagues. In addition, the municipality, in collaboration with the local teacher circle, conducts a number of activities for new employees and newly trained teachers.

If you are a newly graduated

In Tårnby Municipality we offer, in collaboration with DLF, District 13, an introductory program for newly trained teachers and kindergar ten-year leaders. This happens in interaction with your manager, union representative and workplace safety representative.

The first two years as a newly trained teacher also involve reduced teaching time, and all schools have a mentoring scheme. We make an effort to give you a good start to your teaching life.

Salary and employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the applicable agreement with the Danish Teachers’ Union following negotiation.

The municipality’s employment policy implies that references from previous and current workplaces are collected upon hiring. If you have been employed in Tårnby Municipality, references will always be taken from here. In addition, a criminal record certificate must be presented and a child protection clearance must be obtained. Employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory.
