About the job

Do you want to help develop good frameworks and participation opportunities for children and youth in Gladsaxe? And do you thrive in a varied everyday life, where you work with larger and smaller development projects, analyses and political matters? Then you could be the development consultant we are looking for.

We are seeking a committed and curious development consultant for our team in the Department of Children and Culture. You will become part of a strong professional environment where we as consultants work closely with leaders and staff in the children and youth area to translate political ambitions and professional knowledge into development in practice. In the team for Children and Youth, we support the political and professional development in the school and day care area as well as Family and Counseling.

The position includes both larger and shorter development tasks and smaller operational tasks. Therefore we are looking for you who can create an overview, drive processes forward and at the same time have an eye for the professional and organizational reality in which the solutions must function.

Your tasks

As a development consultant you will work with a wide range of tasks in the children and youth area. Your concrete tasks will vary over time, but will include among others:

  • drive and participate in development projects and cross-cutting efforts
  • plan and facilitate processes in collaboration with managers, professionals and other consultants
  • translate political decisions and strategic ambitions into concrete actions
  • prepare analyses and decision papers
  • respond to citizen inquiries
  • prepare political case materials, speaking papers and contribute to serving the political level
  • solve various consultancy tasks that arise in a politically led organization.

A crucial part of the work is the ability to move between different perspectives. You must be able to understand the political and strategic agenda, have a sense of the professionalism in the children and youth area and at the same time be focused on how development can function in practice.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a relevant academic education and an interest in developing the children and youth area.

You do not need to have many years of experience as a consultant to be right for the position. You may be relatively new to the job market with relevant experiences from, for example, student jobs, or you may have several years of experience with development and consultancy tasks. The most important for us is your approach to the tasks and your motivation to work with the development of the children and youth area in Gladsaxe Municipality.

It would be an advantage if you have knowledge of the children and/or youth area and of working in a politically led organization, but this is not a prerequisite.

We especially emphasize that you

  • are analytical and can get to grips with complex problem statements
  • write well and can communicate clearly and precisely
  • are curious about others’ perspectives and good at creating relationships and collaboration
  • take responsibility for your tasks and see them through
  • are eager to learn and develop professionally.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead, we expect you to be curious and eager to learn both the organization and the children and youth area well.

You will become part of a strong professional community

You will become part of a team of consultants who work with development in the children and youth area. We solve our own tasks and also work across the board when tasks call for different professionalities and perspectives. Currently the team is, among other things, working on implementing a two-teacher scheme in 1st-3rd grade in all municipal public schools, strengthening cross-professional collaboration, the development of the special and social area and school attendance.

You will have extensive contact and will collaborate with managers, professionals and consultants across the Department of Children and Culture and the rest of the municipality.

We place emphasis on high professionalism and quality, but also on being a place where you can ask each other for advice, think aloud together and help each other when a task is difficult. We have an informal tone and want a work environment where there is room for independence, sparring and professional development.

With us you will have the opportunity to further develop your consultancy professionalism and at the same time work on tasks that matter for the everyday lives of children and young people.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week with start as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027.

Salary and terms of employment are according to the applicable collective agreement and the agreement with the relevant trade union organization.

We are based at the town hall in Gladsaxe, but there is also the possibility of home working. Here are good transport options, a good canteen and many benefits for employees such as free service checks of your bicycle, free courses at Folkeuniversitetet, yoga, swimming, loan of an electric bicycle, etc.

Want to know more?

You are welcome to contact team leader Anne Weng Jørgensen at phone 24 92 86 42 if you want to hear more about the position, tasks or the team. Feel free to send a text message, and you will be called back when the opportunity arises.

Application deadline and interviews

Send your application, CV and any exam certificates no later than November 8, 2026.

We expect to hold the first interview on Tuesday, November 17 and the second interview on Tuesday, November 24.

The second interview will be based on a case.
