About the job

Do you want to help strengthen and develop an attractive municipality? Can you handle many balls in the air, and do you feel comfortable with management support and work close to the strategic and political level? Then you may be our new development consultant!

At Culture and Secretariat in Assens Municipality we are seeking a development consultant.

This is a permanent position of 30-37 hours per week, to be filled by 1 January 2027.

About the job We need an academic development consultant who can support the Director of Town, Country and Culture from a generalist perspective. In daily work you will work closely with the director on analyses, case memos, briefing notes, presentations and similar strategic tasks that ensure effective processes and deliveries on time.

As development consultant you will also manage project management and be responsible for projects across the directorate. This means you must collaborate with employees widely in the directorate, primarily within the technical area.

In some cases larger projects and processes will lead to fundraising from external funds, for which you will have ongoing responsibility.

In everyday life you will also be involved in smaller projects and tasks within culture and nature in interplay with the other staff in Culture and Secretariat. The director's secretary will be a close partner for you, as meeting invitations, agendas and minutes also become part of your daily life.

Who are you You have a relevant academic education. Tasks arise continuously, so it is crucial that you can grasp tasks with short deadlines and can define tasks yourself from an overarching framework. You work data-informed and can account for financial matters. So your academic toolbox must be broad with knowledge of analysis and project models, which you can use to create an overview and communicate complex issues clearly.

In addition you have knowledge of working in a politically governed organization and experience with project management – also preferably with concrete projects within nature, cultural heritage, citizen involvement or similar.

If you also have experience with process management in cross-functional collaboration in the technical area, that would be a plus. Likewise, knowledge of Assens Municipality and prioritizing physical presence at the town hall is positively valued.

As a person you work independently and take initiative in collaborative relationships. You have an eye for progress and goals and ensure that tasks are executed on time.
