About the position

This is a single-person role for an 11-year-old boy with ADHD, autism and mental retardation.

The position is 20 hours per week as an hourly-paid substitute outside of a collective agreement.

The working hours are primarily

• Wednesday 11:00-17:00
• Friday 07:30-16:00

The remaining hours are allocated as needed and may occur on weekends.

About the boy

The boy is in good spirits, happy and caring. He benefits from clear boundaries, structure and predictability in daily life. He likes building with wood and playing with remote-controlled cars.

It is important that you

• Work from a low arousal approach
• Can stay calm in pressured situations
• Communicate in a calm tone of voice
• Can create structure and an overview
• Can guide and support him through the day's activities
• Can support his wellbeing through a safe and validating relationship

We are looking for someone who

• Is calm, patient and present
• Has experience with or interest in working with children with special needs
• Can create secure relationships
• Is responsible and reliable
• Can work independently while following the agreed pedagogical guidelines

Experience shows that the boy often forms a strong attachment to male adults. This is however not a requirement, and all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for the position.
