We are seeking an experienced leader who can bring together strong professional expertise, set direction, and help develop the municipal service in times when both digitization and reforms call for new solutions.

We are looking for a Area Manager for Service and Administration for the Center for Employment and Citizen Service (CBB). A leader who can raise our service and our coherence.

A central leadership role with a wide organizational span

As the leader of Service and Administration you will occupy a central position in the center’s management. You will be the leader of leaders and will have a special responsibility to strengthen the coherence and collaboration between Citizen Service and Service Delivery – two strong departments with their own professional focus, but with many shared collaboration interfaces and one common ambition: to give citizens a good, coherent and professional service.

Citizen Service is led by Helle Johannisson and Service Delivery by Martin Bo Sørensen. You will thereby become the leader of two experienced leaders who both have a focus on the core task, service and collaboration.

At the same time you will have personnel responsibility for our management support unit. Here, among other things, work is done with political support, finance, management support, development and cross-cutting tasks. You will have overall personnel responsibility for two leaders and ten employees.

The position is placed as a level 4 leader, and you report directly to the Center Director Christel Højvang Kyed. The management group you will join currently consists of 7 leaders. In that management group you will have 7 fantastic colleagues with a toolbox full of professionalism, personality, humor and realistic optimism – not many people are lucky enough to be part of such a strong collective – you have something to look forward to!

There is still plenty to tackle – fortunately

We are a center with ambitions and have the courage to do something different from what we usually do. The employment reform is in full swing to be translated from political intentions into new practice. Here, collaboration between benefit and sickness benefits plays a role. We work with Ungeløftet (Unemployed Lift), TårnbyLift, job fairs and a fair aimed at young people. We are moreover rethinking our citizen expedition in Citizen Service so that it is more timely from both an employee and a citizen perspective.

Through Telephonic Guidance (TRÅD) we are intentionally working to strengthen the telephone service and make it easier for citizens to quickly get the right help. The employees in TRÅD strive daily to raise our immediate clarification and enhance the perceived value for both colleagues in the municipality and the citizen who reaches out for our service.

Digitization and AI are moving right into the municipal core task. Tårnb y Municipality currently functions as one of seven scaling-leading municipalities in KL’s large-scale project concerning AI in municipalities. In this round focusing mainly on speech-to-text and interpretation solutions. As the leader of Service and Administration you will play an important role in ongoing digitalization and in translating new technological possibilities into solutions that make sense for both citizens and employees. AI should not replace employees but support their work!

We are therefore not looking for a leader who can only manage operations. We are looking for a leader who also becomes curious about the question: How can we do it even better?

… solid leadership experience from a public organization… and you therefore understand the particular discipline of delivering results in an organization where professionalism, legislation, economy, political priorities and citizens’ needs must go hand in hand.

… a relevant advanced education, preferably at academic level. But your leadership experience and your ability to create followship, direction and results weigh most.

… experience with political support, reform work, implementation and major organizational changes.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment will be according to the applicable collective agreement.
