We are seeking a pedagogue with a strong professional profile and a genuine commitment to social psychiatry. You are focused on creating development and well-being, and you know that this requires both patience, good collaboration and professional reflection.

At Støttecenter Skovbrynet you will be part of a small team of 4 staff who work purposefully to create a safe, structured and meaningful everyday life together with the residents.

Who are we?

At Skovbrynet, 12 residents aged 29-67 live in their own apartments. What they have in common is that they live with mental illnesses, which in various ways can make it challenging to get everyday life to hang together and to navigate society’s demands.

Their support needs are individual and can range from reassuring conversations and help to create structure in daily life, to motivation, guidance and accompaniment outside the home.

Our common starting point is that residents should have the opportunity to live a life on their own terms. We therefore support the individual in maintaining and developing their skills, finding their own solutions and taking an active part in their own life.

Our base is the community house with a common lounge, kitchen and a staff office. From here we plan and coordinate the effort together. But the primary support often takes place in the citizens’ own homes.

Residents are self-sufficient in the late evening hours and at night. Therefore we are present in the day and evening hours on weekdays from 8-19 as well as on weekends and holidays from 9-15.

We offer support all year round, and the community house’s opening hours can be adapted to the citizens’ changing needs.

With us, the pedagogical relationship and the social-psychological approach are central. Health care tasks are handled by home care. Thus personal care and medication handling are not part of our tasks.

For us, good social-psychiatric support is not about defining what a good or normal life should look like. It’s about being curious about what gives meaning to the individual. We support residents in translating their own wishes, hopes and dreams into a daily life that works for them.

We work from two central professional approaches.

Recovery-oriented rehabilitation and LA2

We do not fix or save the residents. Our task is to support each individual’s possibilities to master their own life, experience influence and take small or large steps toward the life the person desires. We work with the citizen’s own goals and resources as the starting point for development. We meet behavior with curiosity and dialogue. When situations become difficult or unpredictable, we work structured and consciously to understand the resident’s perspective and adapt our approach.

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead, we want a colleague who is professionally curious, dares to ask questions and wants to develop their practice together with us.

It is important that you are comfortable with a work plan that can vary if the citizens’ needs change. There are evening work and weekend shifts, and you can expect to work every third weekend.

We are not looking for a colleague who has answers to everything, but someone who is curious, engaged and willing to take shared responsibility for both the citizens’ development and our shared professional direction.

Støttecenter Skovbrynet belongs to the Bo-area By, which consists of 3 support centers pursuant to the Danish Act on Housing (Almenboligloven) §105 and the Social Services Act (SEL) §85 as well as the housing training offer Høje Bøge vej 5 pursuant to SEL §107

The staff in the Bo-area By consist of 13 social-psychiatric home guides, 2 administrative staff, 3 professional coordinators and 1 department head.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement in the area. In addition, a certificate of conduct must be presented.

In Svendborg Municipality the salary for this type of position typically ranges between 38,984 and 50,075 DKK per month for full-time employment. The salary includes pension, special holiday allowance and fixed allowances. There may also be shift allowances and other special payments. It is important to note that your specific salary is determined by your experience, seniority and competencies and agreed upon in negotiation with the relevant professional organization.
