About the job

Are you keen to plan and book flights and help ensure that foreigners without legal residence in Denmark can depart? Do you thrive on coordination, close collaboration and a daily life where changes can occur at short notice? Then you may be our new colleague in Travel Booking in the 4th Return Travel Office.

Your new work – an important part of the repatriation work

The core task of the Repatriation Agency is to repatriate foreigners who do not have legal residence in Denmark. In Travel Booking you will play a key role in ensuring that the practical planning is in place so that the removals can be carried out.

You will become part of a team that plans and books air travel in connection with detained and accompanied removals of EU citizens and third-country nationals to other EU countries or to their home or origin countries.

The team also coordinates the internal staffing of the removals, and it is expected that you also contribute to carrying out on-site removals during normal working hours and the subsequent case processing.

A everyday life of planning, coordination and collaboration

You will gain in-depth knowledge of the practical part of the repatriation work. Good coordination and attention to detail are essential for the travels to be carried out as planned. Your tasks will include:

  • plan flights and book airline tickets through Frontex and CWT
  • obtain transit permits and prepare Interpol forms
  • collaborate with the Danish police and Denmark’s Prisons, including requests for assistance with transport and the release of detainees during removals

In addition you will have a broad collaborative network across the Office of Repatriation, Frontex, CWT, other national authorities and airlines.

You will become part of a public, politically governed authority. This means that you will also from time to time contribute to internal, cross-disciplinary working groups and prepare presentations for meetings with e.g. external partners.

After further agreement with your manager, and when your usual tasks permit, you may also be considered to handle accompanied removals. In accompanied removals the Repatriation Agency, in cooperation with the police, accompanies foreigners to an EU country or to their home or destination country. You also have the possibility, by agreement, to participate in on-site removals outside normal working hours with separate compensation according to the applicable local agreement.

Can you keep an overview and build good collaborative relationships?

We are looking for someone who wants to use their administrative skills in work with a clear societal purpose. You have a relevant background, e.g. as an office clerk or educated in the travel industry. It is an advantage if you have experience with travel booking or working in a public authority.

You will become part of an environment with high professionalism, where we place emphasis on quality, collaboration and integrity.

We expect that you

  • are responsible and flexible
  • can keep an overview and handle busy situations
  • are solution-oriented and positive in your approach to work
  • thrive in an open office environment
  • are eager to work in a team where we brainstorm, help each other and solve the tasks together – even when deadlines are tight.

You must have a driving license for a passenger car, as you may come to handle on-site removals, typically from Copenhagen Airport.

We offer you

You will be warmly welcomed by the office’s approx. 20 dedicated and professionally skilled employees. On a daily basis you work closely with Travel Booking’s 5 staff in a day-to-day characterized by commitment, busyness and good humor. We have an informal tone and emphasize that there is room for both professional sparring and a good laugh.

The sense of community also spans across the office teams. Marie-Louise, team coordinator in Travel Booking, says:

”Our manager is focused on developing the employees and has our back in both professional, operational and practical aspects both at home and abroad. Management also supports the good collegial and social community that so distinctly characterizes the 4th Return Travel Office.”

We focus on creating good conditions for well-being and work-life balance with flexible working hours, possibility of home-based work, a massage program and a gym. You will of course also receive a thorough introduction and training so you settle well into your new tasks.
