About the job

We are expanding and are seeking two health-professional visitators for 1-1-2 (AMK Dispatch Center)

Can you maintain an overview and make quick decisions in acute situations? As a health-professional visitator in the AMK Dispatch Center, you are the first health-professional contact when a citizen calls 1-1-2 – and the one who creates an overview from the very first moment.

About the AMK Dispatch Center

The AMK Dispatch Center is a central part of the Capital Region’s Emergency Medical Service and handles health-professional 1-1-2 calls in the region. Here, citizens with acute and potentially life-threatening conditions are triaged, and quick decisions are made about the right help.

Work is carried out in close collaboration between health-professional visitators, technical dispatchers and AMK doctors. Together you ensure that the pre-hospital response is initiated quickly and correctly – both in daily operations and during major incidents. The AMK Dispatch Center is a round-the-clock function with high complexity, where the pace can be high, and where professionalism, collaboration and overview are crucial.

About the position

As a health-professional visitator you are the first health-professional contact when a citizen calls 1-1-2. You have 1:1 contact with the citizen and must quickly form an overview of the situation.

The tasks are unpredictable and span a wide range – from advice and reassurance to situations where your assessment is decisive for life-saving treatment being initiated. Not all calls are about life or death, but all require your full attention, professionalism and empathy.

You assess, prioritize and guide in acute situations where seconds can be decisive, and where the citizen is often vulnerable or in crisis. You work in a structured way with clinical assessment and decision-making and are responsible for creating overview in situations that are often characterized by seriousness and uncertainty. Even though you are not physically present, you have the option to use video in contact with the citizen so you can follow the situation and guide more precisely.

You become part of a visitator group with about 40 health-professional visitators, a quality coordinator and two section heads. In daily operations you work closely in the shift, where sparring and peer support are a natural part of the job, and where you never face difficult judgments alone. There is always an opportunity to involve colleagues, the shift supervisor and an AMK doctor if needed.

We are looking for you who

  • are a nurse, ambulance paramedic or paramedic with Danish authorization
  • have solid clinical experience – preferably from the acute, intensive, anesthesia or prehospital field
  • can communicate clearly and confidently with citizens who are vulnerable or in crisis
  • enjoy responsibility and fast decisions
  • maintain composure and overview regardless of pace
  • possess resilience and the ability to handle complex and unpredictable tasks
  • are eager for professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration

We offer you

  • a role where your professional assessments and decisions have direct impact on the help the citizen receives – often in situations where time is decisive
  • a thorough training period of 6–8 weeks with teaching and job-shadowing
  • a strong professional environment with experienced colleagues and close collegial sparring
  • a workplace with focus on well-being, including regular supervision 2–3 times annually
  • opportunity for shifts of 8-12 hours depending on whether you work every other weekend or every third weekend
  • employment of 30–37 hours per week
