About the job

Do you dream of a central role in child and adolescent psychiatry? Then this is for you! We are expanding and seeking the perfect SAK / medical secretary for a full-time position in the youth ward B293 at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center, The Outpatient House in Glostrup

Are you passionate about making a real difference for children and youths in psychiatry? Are you structured, welcoming, dedicated and trained as a medical secretary or health administrative coordinator? Then read on.

At the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Capital Region of Denmark, we handle assessment and treatment for the many children and youths who struggle with severe psychiatric difficulties. As a secretary at BUC, you will work closely with our many skilled and dedicated clinicians, and perform a supportive and coordinating role that enables them to achieve their important tasks.

Section B293 is a specialized psychosis ward, where we have consolidated specialized knowledge about patients with psychosis and our 2-year OPUS Young program. The patients here are aged 12-17, and in the ward we also treat patients for assessment and treatment under main functions such as ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, etc. The ward became an independent unit from the turn of the year, with 3 medical secretaries employed, and we therefore need more hands for the important administrative task we perform in BUC.

The Outpatient House houses five wards and patient groups aged 8-17. Here you are surrounded by 28 administrative colleagues, medical secretaries, health administrative coordinators, receptionists and service assistants who ensure thorough onboarding and strong collaboration in daily work.

All secretaries in BUC are grouped under the title KS – Clinical Secretariat . The aim is to strengthen collaboration and ensure consistent workflows across wards and sites. We continuously work on professional development, teaching and optimization – and we also emphasize a good social community in a busy everyday life. We look forward to a time in the secretariat when the way we solve our administrative tasks evolves; you should want to be part of that and enjoy being in an organization where secretaries play a major role in the administrative part of a patient’s journey.

About your role and tasks

As a secretary with us you will have a very special and central function in the assessment and treatment journey for children, youths and families. It will likely be you they meet first, you who books their appointments, you who coordinates their overall process, and you who answers the phone when they call and need information.

It is your smile and your friendliness they meet when they enter our site, and it is your collection and registration of their information and forms that makes the processes work.

Your role and task are therefore incredibly important, for both families and for the clinicians who, on a daily basis, carry out assessment and treatment of the children and youths.

Your main tasks will be

  • Booking and coordinating patient appointments in the Health Platform
  • Timely and correct registration in patient pathways
  • Telephone handling in our call center
  • Close collaboration with clinicians on assessment and treatment pathways
  • Reception and main reception coverage during absence and holidays

We work with a 4-week rotating schedule, where we switch functions and roles, and there are good opportunities for working remotely almost every week .

Our expectations of you

  • You are trained as a medical secretary or health administrative coordinator
  • You have broad experience with the Health Platform
  • You are structured, systematic and good at maintaining overview
  • You are friendly and welcoming and take pride in collaborating with colleagues as well as patients and relatives
  • You are reliable and responsible
  • You want to become part of a workplace where tasks evolve and administrative work is a big part of a good patient journey, where we have an active role in ensuring that the assessment process runs smoothly for the clinicians

Organization of Clinical Secretariat

The total secretary group in BUC is organizationally gathered in what we colloquially call Clinical Secretariat . We consist of a large and engaged professional group currently around 100 employees, who work to strengthen and develop the secretaries’ tasks and ensure that our patients and relatives experience consistently high quality.

Clinical Secretariat has secretaries distributed across all our sites (Glostrup, The Outpatient House, Bispebjerg, Hillerød, Rigshospitalet, Herlev Hospital and on Bornholm). We have 4 site-leading medical secretaries/health administrative leaders attached to the sites, a registration team, and an administration manager, who together share responsibility for the operation, development and leadership of Clinical Secretariat.

Salary and employment terms

We expect you to start December 1, 2026.

The position is full-time, and the working hours are primarily Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 15:30.

You are employed under the collective agreement for medical secretaries and others. You are during employment covered by the current working time agreement concluded between the Regions’ Pay and Tariff Board and HK Municipal.

The region operates around the clock, and you may, as needed, be scheduled to work outside the outpatient clinic’s opening hours in accordance with the rules in the applicable working time agreement.

Send your application, CV and certificate of education via the link no later than Oct 18, 2026
