About the job

Do you want to work with the Finance Act processes and financial management in a dynamic and complex agency? Do you have a sharp financial understanding and the willingness to take responsibility for central processes close to the decisions? Then you may be our new economist in the Center for Economics and IT.

About the position

You will become part of the team in the Center for Economics and IT that works with the agency's finances, including the preparation of the Finance Act, budget- and appropriation cases, and management information.

Your primary tasks will include

  • Preparation and consolidation of the agency's Finance Act contribution in collaboration with the subject coordinator and subject centers.
  • Planning and development of the Finance Act process, including coordination and facilitation.
  • Preparation of budget- and appropriation cases as well as ministerial documents.
  • Ongoing dialogue and sparring with the agency's subject centers on financial matters and appropriation frameworks.
  • Ongoing communication with external stakeholders, e.g. the Ministry.

The Center for Economics and IT consists of about 55 employees and is led by two center managers supplemented by team leaders. You will join a group of colleagues with similar tasks who coordinate financial tasks for the agency's entire operations.

About you

We are seeking an economist with a relevant economics master's degree, e.g., cand.merc., cand.oecon., cand.polit. or similar, who has already gained experience with economic tasks and is ready to take independent professional responsibility, but all levels of experience will be considered for the position.

Professionally we value that you

  • Have a strong economic understanding and preferably experience with public financial management, appropriation management and the Finance Act process, but it is not a requirement.
  • Thrive as a professional sparring partner for management and subject centers, and be able to translate economic analyses into clear recommendations.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills and enjoy an outward-facing role with close dialogue with the Ministry, center managers, the executive board and other stakeholders, where you can adapt your communication to different audiences.

As a person

  • Naturally take responsibility for driving your tasks forward and see them through, even when conditions are complex and deadlines tight.
  • Have strong writing skills and are used to formulating precise and well-founded notes for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Are structured, analytical and quality-conscious, and have an eye for detail without losing an overall view.
  • Thrive working independently with clear professional responsibility while naturally collaborating across the organization.
  • Can balance your role as a link between the agency's centers and external stakeholders, including the Ministry, with a focus on quality, timeliness and good dialogue.

We prefer that you have a desire to take clear professional responsibility for the area of Finance Act and appropriation management and contribute actively to further develop processes, governance models, and workflows in the area.

We do not expect you to have all the answers from day one and you will of course receive the necessary training for the position.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed under the current collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state. You will be placed based on seniority and experience as a full-time employee at the basic level or as a senior consultant in accordance with the current agreement, which you can read here and the Employee and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you can read here .

Depending on your qualifications and competencies there is an opportunity for negotiation of a supplement. An employer-financed pension scheme of 18.07% will be attached. Alternatively you will be employed under another relevant collective agreement.

If you have questions about salary placement you can find the list of union representatives here or contact the recruitment partner, Sophia van Deurs, at email [email protected] .
