About the job

The Traffic Authority's Office for Planning & Climate is looking for an economist, engineer or similar who wants to work with traffic and economic analyses within the public transport sector. Planning & Climate conducts traffic and economic analyses in close cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Affairs and Transport and often on assignment from transport policymakers.

We work for example with analyses of ferry services to Bornholm, introduction of free public transport for young people, green transition of domestic air travel, traffic model calculations regarding public travel and traffic forecasts, as well as the implementation of digital solutions within transport.

The foundation for our work is data collection and data processing that ensures a solid decision basis. Planning & Climate has for instance developed a route- and product-economy for the railway, is responsible for the Transport Plan for the national railway, and contributes with calculations, forecasts and analyses of new infrastructure and developments in rail and in public transport on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Affairs and Transport.

We are looking for an employee who has solid numerical skills, writes well, and has an interest in decision-making processes in the public sector.

Your primary duties will be to participate in the analyses that need to be solved in the office. This can be calculations and data presentations in notes or reports on, for example, revenues and passenger numbers in public transport, or it can be larger strategic analyses of, for example, the economic basis for a new railway connection or for future ferry tenders. It may also be necessary to contribute to handling proposals from the EU Commission.

Tasks are adapted to competencies and experience. The office is divided into three pillars, each with its own area of responsibility. We often work across the pillars in the office, which, together with the varied assignment composition, provides good opportunities for professional development.

Who are you

You have a relevant higher education as economist, engineer or similar.

In addition, we emphasize that you

  • Have strong communication skills and write well in Danish.
  • Have solid numerical understanding and can oversee large data sets.
  • Are curious and can “think outside the box,” but thrive in a hierarchical organization.
  • Have good collaboration skills and can participate in cross-disciplinary working groups.
  • Are flexible and thrive when plans change from time to time.
  • Have an interest in and preferably knowledge of public administration and EU regulation.

We expect that you have several years of relevant experience, e.g. from public administration, experience with traffic analyses preferably in the public transport sector, project management and similar. If you are a recent graduate or have a couple of years of experience and think you could be a good match for this role, please do not hesitate to apply.
