About the job

At Regionshospitalet Randers, Kvinder og Børn, Fødeafsnittet, there is a full-time position as educationally responsible midwife available for appointment as of January 1, 2027.

Would you like to be part of a delivery ward where engagement, innovative thinking, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration are at the core?

We are seeking a third educationally responsible midwife who, together with the two current educationally responsible midwives, will handle the tasks related to the clinical part of midwifery education, and have a close connection to the clinic.

The position comprises 18.5 hours/week with educational responsibilities and 18.5 hours/week with clinical work in the maternity ward.

Who are we?

Gynaecology and Births together with Children and Young People form the Department of Women and Children. In the department we have a multidisciplinary focus on families’ journeys through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This entails close daily collaboration across professional groups between the maternity ward, Women and Children and youth.

The department handles the clinical part of the education for 20 midwifery students each year in close collaboration with UCN in Aalborg. In addition, the department runs educational programs for foreign midwifery students as well as doctors, rescuers and social- and health care assistants.

The maternity ward handled about 2,200 births in 2025. We have a clinical midwifery supervisor on a 24-hour duty basis. There are 70 midwives and 3 social- and health care assistants employed in the department and together they cover a wide range of tasks within the midwife’s field of work. We have midwifery consultations located in our four collaborating municipalities and have close cooperation with health visitors and social workers.

What will you do?

With reference to the study program, you will plan the clinical part of the midwifery students' education.

  • You plan and conduct teaching, tests/exams, expectation conversations, mid-term and final conversations, etc.
  • You ensure coordination of the theoretical and clinical parts of the education
  • You are the point of contact for the students and their supervisors, meaning you are in close contact with both parties in everyday life
  • You work closely with UCN in Aalborg, from which our students come
  • You keep yourself professionally updated and implement this in your work with the students
  • You are prepared to contribute to implementing the reform of the midwifery education in the coming years
  • You coordinate interdisciplinary work and contribute to professional development in the department in general

Who are you? You are a midwife and

  • at least 5 years of broad clinical practice experience
  • have or wish to have relevant pedagogical postgraduate education at master’s level or equivalent
  • have interest in and experience with team- and simulation training
  • have interest in the educational field – including pedagogy and learning as well as development of learning and teaching methods.
  • are creative, open and curious – ideally with the courage to challenge the boundaries
  • have visions for the specialty and the midwifery profession
  • can work independently and are able to prioritize working time and tasks

We offer you

  • a diverse job with a high degree of autonomy
  • an informal tone and a short path from idea to action
  • a skilled and engaged staff group
  • a strong interdisciplinary community
  • a place in an education team with strong experience and knowledge
