At Granhøjen’s residential facility in Sorø (§ 108) we work with adults with complex psychiatric and cognitive challenges. The residents live, among other things, with autism and altered perception of reality. Some have a sentence under a penalty order.

It takes time to build relationships, and everyday life does not always go according to plan. In return, you get a job where you come close to people and become an important part of their daily lives. Often it is the small steps forward that matter the most.

With us you become part of a department with 13 skilled colleagues with different professional backgrounds. We use each other’s experiences in everyday life and help each other when a task is difficult.

What does everyday life look like?

Some days it’s about helping a resident make everyday life hang together. Other days you may need to find another path into a situation where what you usually do doesn’t work. You help create predictability in daily life and support the residents in working with their own goals.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

• support residents in daily activities and routines
• work with residents’ individual goals and development
• accompany residents to activities outside the house
• participate in the house’s joint activities
• document residents’ development and interventions
• collaborate with colleagues, relatives and partners

You will of course be thoroughly introduced to the tasks, and you will never be left alone with the responsibility.

Is it you we’re looking for?

We are looking for someone who is trained as a pedagogue and has a driver’s license (B).

In addition we attach importance to that you

• have experience with or a desire to work with adults with complex psychiatric and cognitive challenges
• can stay calm and act professionally, even when a situation becomes challenging

Knowledge of systemic and narrative approaches is an advantage, but not a requirement.

• a duty roster that we plan together with working hours in the period 8 am–10 pm and shifts every 3rd weekend
