At Granhøjen's residential facility in Sorø we are looking for a trained pedagogue who also will take on a team coordinating function.

You will become part of the residents' daily life and have the opportunity to follow their development over time. At the same time you will be responsible for following up on shared agreements and helping colleagues make the pedagogical efforts work in practice.

It requires that you can stay firm when a task is not resolved, but also listen and understand what stands in the way.

Your daily life is at Granhøjens botilbud in Sorø

At our botilbud in Sorø (§ 108) we work with adults with complex psychiatric and cognitive challenges. The residents live, among other things, with autism and altered perception of reality. Some have a sentence for a criminal sanction.

You will become part of a department with 13 colleagues with different professional backgrounds. We take care with the pedagogical work and use each other for sparring when tasks are difficult or daily life is pressing.

As a pedagogue you are part of the daily staffing. You support the residents based on their needs and goals and work, among other things, with creating structure and predictability in everyday life.

Some days it is about helping a resident make everyday life hang together. Other days you may need to find another way into a situation where what you usually do does not work.

You will receive regular supervision and professional sparring, where you and your colleagues together can examine your pedagogical approach and adjust it when needed.

In addition you will get a team coordinating function with fixed hours allocated to coordinate and follow up on the pedagogical work.

You work pedagogically and keep track of the agreements

Your role is primarily pedagogical. You join the regular staffing on equal terms with your colleagues, but also have a special responsibility to coordinate and follow up on the pedagogical work.

You will among other things

• work pedagogically with the residents in close collaboration with your colleagues
• plan and facilitate team meetings together with the department head and follow up on decisions
• keep an overview of pedagogical tasks and deadlines
• support colleagues in their tasks and follow up when something does not come to fruition
• support the work with action plans and daily documentation
• collaborate with the duty scheduler about the daily operations.

A decision at a team meeting is only useful when it is implemented. You help make it clear who does what, and follow up together with colleagues.

You follow up without being a leader

You do not have personnel responsibility, but must be able to be clear to your colleagues and hold fast to the agreements you have made.

Sometimes a colleague needs sparring. Other times there is a need for a reminder or help to carry a task forward. You must be able to take the conversation in a proper way while being clear about expectations.

Can you see yourself in the role?

You are a trained pedagogue and have experience from the specialized social sector.

You work in a structured way and have an understanding of pedagogical action plans and documentation. You can follow up on agreements with your colleagues, even when something has not been done.

At the same time you use your pedagogical professionalism in the meeting with the residents and contribute to the shared reflection on what works and what you should do differently.

Knowledge of the systemic and narrative approach is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The practicalities must of course also fit

The position is 37 hours per week, and you join a fixed shift rota with rotating hours on equal terms with your colleagues.

You will have opportunities to continually improve through courses, theme days and education. In addition you receive health and dental insurance as well as attractive employee schemes.
