Educator sought for permanent evening shift – 9 hours per week

Are you a pedagogue and looking for some fixed extra hours? Then here is an opportunity to become a steady support for a cheerful and active boy who loves to swing and go on trips on his side-by-side bike.

About the role

You will be a steady support for a cheerful and active boy with autism. He needs structure, predictability and clear support in everyday life.

Your task is to help him with bathing and personal care while also creating good 1:1 moments with activities he enjoys. This may include cycling on his side-by-side bike, playing ball, swinging, or taking a walk with his remote-controlled race car.

He does not have verbal language and communicates, among other things, via a speech-iPad and body language. Therefore you must be attentive to his signals and able to support him with calmness, clarity and recognizability/predictability.

There is a dog and two cats in the home.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue or have another professionally relevant background and have experience with children or youths with substantial support needs.

It is an advantage if you have experience with autism, developmental disability and nonverbal communication.

Working hours

The position is 9 hours per week spread over three shifts

Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 16/17–19/20)

The position can be shared by 2 employees if you are seeking fewer hours or wish to work every other Sunday.
