In Outrup Preschool and Nursery we are fortunate that on 15 September 2026 we opened our new nursery department in beautiful, newly built premises. We are experiencing great interest in our new offering and are continually receiving more children. Therefore we are now looking for a committed and presence-sharing pedagogue (teacher) for 37 hours per week in a permanent position from 1 December 2026, who would like to become part of our team. We can be flexible regarding the employment rate.

The Vest Daycare – a community for 4 daycares to the West

Vest Daycare consists of four departments; Svalehuset in Janderup, Outrup Preschool, Skovmusen in Oksbøl and Mælkevejen in Nr. Nebel. Vest Daycare has an overall daycare manager and a daily manager in each department. The appointment is in Vest Daycare with the place of work in one of the departments. As a pedagogue you report in everyday life directly to the daily manager.

In Vest Daycare we base our pedagogical practice on the latest research-based knowledge about children’s development and supportive contact. We meet each child with a neuroaffective understanding and maintain a continuous focus on creating high quality in our core task – children’s development, well-being and formation.

We take responsibility for contact and relationship with the child, and therefore all staff participate continuously in Marte Meo basic course, an educational program with Christina Abildgaard. We see ourselves as the most important pedagogical tool in the work to support children’s development of socio-emotional competencies. We have special focus on development-supportive contact and emphasize following children’s initiatives in interaction.

Professional knowledge sharing and collegial support of the pedagogical practice are given high priority because we want to strengthen each other in the work to create the best possible quality in the core task.

We prioritize a good working environment where openness, responsibility, curiosity, flexibility and shared responsibility for the good atmosphere are the producing values. At the same time we work innovatively and are continually engaged in testing and developing new initiatives.

In addition to our own training programs, employees also participate in Varde Municipality’s competency development, which currently includes ICDP and a cross-cutting development program with Anders Seneca with the aim of making good even better and strengthening the quality of our core task across the daycare sector.

Outrup Preschool and Nursery – an oasis located on 4 tønderland

In Outrup Preschool and Nursery we view diversity as a strength that creates development, community and inclusivity. We have a strong collaboration with parents and our local community.

In Outrup Preschool and Nursery we have a lovely large playground on 4 tønderland. The playground contains forest, toboggan hill, obstacle course, fruit orchard, birds, rabbits and much more, which we use as a pedagogical learning environment. In addition, we enjoy regularly going on trips with our bus, which we share with some of Varde Municipality’s other day care institutions.

Whether you are an experienced pedagogue or newly graduated is of no consequence. What is important is that you want to be curious with the children in the nursery and that you are development-ready and reflective with your colleagues in order to create the best quality for our core task – the children’s well-being, learning and development.

We place high value on respecting the individual, both in relation to children, parents and to each other.

With us you will have the opportunity to develop professionally through sparring, training and knowledge sharing. You will become part of a competent and professionally strong staff group that is in the process of implementing Marte Meo method.

With our large playground, where there is room for rabbits, birds and much else, it is an advantage if you love nature and outdoor life.

You will take responsibility for a group of children and what that entails in relation to parent meetings, written work etc. If you do not have much experience with that, there is an opportunity to be trained by an experienced pedagogue.

Our expectations of you

We are looking for a pedagogue for our newly established nursery department, who works and communicates from an appreciative approach, and who takes responsibility for building safe and meaningful relationships with each child. You have – or are motivated to acquire – knowledge about development-supportive contact and attachment, and it would be an advantage if you have experience with the target group 0–3 years.

You actively contribute to an open and trusting parent collaboration, where the dialogue is characterized by respect and transparency. At the same time you work independently and are able to take a clear and appreciative leadership in both smaller and larger groups of children. You have a sense of the child’s perspective and see it as a fundamental basis for the framework around play as well as planned and spontaneous activities.

You are focused on working systematically with didactics and can plan, initiate, implement and evaluate pedagogical initiatives with a focus on creating high quality for our core task. In this context you are open to giving and receiving feedback as a natural part of professional collaboration.

We also value that you want to use the outdoor space and our animals as an active and integrated learning environment throughout the day – regardless of the weather. You are curious, exploratory and have courage to try new ideas and initiatives in practice. At the same time you contribute with good humor, spontaneity and a positive approach that helps create a fun and meaningful everyday life for both children and colleagues.

In addition we expect that you have good IT skills and can communicate in writing, and that you are flexible regarding working hours.
