About the job

Would you like to work in the accounting department in one of Denmark's largest municipalities?

We are seeking a skilled and engaged employee for Billing in the central accounting department – a person who has a good administrative overview and who also is passionate about providing good service.

In Billing you will have a varied job with great influence on your own tasks and the opportunity to shape the solutions. You are curious, take initiative and understand how to intervene where it creates value for the organization.

The main task of Billing is to collect payments for services and arrears for the entire Vejle Municipality. We handle the general invoicing as well as administration, operation and support of Vejle Municipality's debtor system. In addition, we handle follow-up and case processing towards the municipality's citizens and businesses with debt to the municipality.

Together with your colleagues in Billing you help ensure quality in the daily operations and contribute to development and implementation of new digital solutions in close cooperation with colleagues and suppliers.

A natural part of the job is contact with citizens in connection with case processing. You must therefore be able to engage in a professional and approachable dialogue. You have the ability to put yourself in the citizens' situation, but must also be able to take control in a conversation and communicate purposefully with the individual citizen.

We have close collaboration across the Accounting Department and with the other professional administrations in Vejle Municipality. We want to be a competent, proactive and professionally strong partner across the municipality.

You must be flexible regarding tasks and deadlines. At the same time you will have good opportunities to influence the content of the position and work processes – depending on your competences.

What we expect of you

We are looking for a colleague who is professionally skilled, has good collaboration skills and wants to contribute to the social community in the team and the department.

You have a relevant office education, and we prefer that you have practical experience from the invoicing and debt collection area. You have insight into and experience with interpreting legislation and you can quickly grasp complex issues.

We expect that with your professional knowledge you help ensure high quality in daily operations. You enjoy a variety of tasks – big and small – and you easily see connections. You are good at spotting new solutions and opportunities to improve workflows.

You can independently handle both daily routine tasks and more development-oriented tasks. We expect you to be numerate, have solid experience with Excel and generally good IT skills.

In addition we value that you

  • Have the willingness and energy to help develop the department
  • Are professionally ambitious and take responsibility for both own tasks and the overall task solution
  • Have good analytical skills and work structured and disciplined
  • Can plan the workday independently and at the same time coordinate with colleagues
  • Are professionally curious and keen to acquire new knowledge
  • Are positive, have a good sense of humor and contribute to good morale

We offer you

A permanent position of 30 hours per week with a high degree of independence and varied tasks. You will become part of a team where the working environment is informal, and the tone is unpretentious and characterized by humor. We help each other with both large and small tasks, and you will have the opportunity to take responsibility and shape your own tasks. We offer flexible working hours and attach great importance to competence development.
