About the job

Are you keen to work with procurement and contract law in practice? Can you see yourself participating in the management of construction contracts for one of Denmark's largest building owners - then this position might be for you!

The Danish Agency for Buildings and Housing (Bygningsstyrelsen) is a property company and the client for the state and the universities. We are responsible for delivering attractive and well-run workplaces so that our customers – the universities, the police, the courts and the central administration – can focus on their core tasks. With us you get the opportunity to advance your career in an agency with complex tasks, high professional standards and good development opportunities.

What can we offer you?

The Danish Agency for Buildings and Housing is divided into three core businesses: Construction, Leasing and Asset Management and Facility Management. In the position you will be part of our Construction Centre, more precisely the Procurement and Contracts unit. In the unit we handle procurement law, contract law, ongoing contract management and supportive project management of the agency’s construction projects. We also handle the IT contract area and administrative law.

Procurement and Contracts consists of 20 engaged and capable colleagues, of which 13 are located at our office in Copenhagen and 7 at our office in Skanderborg.

As a lawyer in the unit your primary tasks will be to

  • Plan and manage procurements
  • Handle contract-law disputes
  • Manage and follow up on contracts with contractors, suppliers and advisers
  • Collaborate broadly internally and externally, especially with architects and engineers

You will thus have a wide range of contact both inside and outside the agency – especially with architects and engineers. You will also be responsible for your own cases, in terms of both the legal and strategic aspects. Other ad hoc tasks in the position include advice on IT contracts, framework agreements and administrative law.

In the unit we are professional, have a high ceiling and a good sense of humor. We can guarantee that in the position you will face exciting professional challenges, sparring with skilled colleagues and a flexible working environment with room to plan your own activities, including the possibility of home working. You will also be assigned a mentor so you have the opportunity for sparring and room to grow with your tasks.

Your competencies and qualifications

We imagine that you have a Master of Laws (cand.jur.) or a Master of Mercantile Law (cand.merc.jur.). It is expected that you have experience from previous positions. You are able to apply your professional knowledge, follow your cases through to the end, and you work solution-oriented to create progress in your own cases.

We place particular weight on, among other things, that you

  • Have experience with or knowledge about procurement processes and contract-law issues
  • Thrives in an active role regarding legal follow-up on entered contracts

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have knowledge of IT law, and/or administrative law.

As a person you work in a structured and solution-oriented manner with cases and take ownership of process, task and strategy.

Employment terms

The position can be filled either at our office in Skanderborg or in Copenhagen.

You are employed under the current collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state.

You are placed based on seniority and experience as a specialist or senior consultant in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, which you can find HERE and the Employee and Competence Agency's salary overview, which you can find HERE .

Depending on your qualifications and competencies there is a possibility for negotiation of allowances. There will be an employer-funded pension scheme of 18.07 percent.

Please contact the Recruitment partner, Emilie Stagsted Bentsen, at tel. 41 70 12 84 or email [email protected], or the union representative, Morten Bækholm Bjerregaard, at tel. 41 70 12 27 or email [email protected], if you have questions about salary placement. Note that we only disclose the base salary for the position, and any allowances are negotiated in connection with a concrete salary offer.

The Danish Agency for Buildings and Housing is an agency under the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Rural Affairs, and the employment area will be the ministry and its agencies. Your workplace will be either Thomas Helsteds Vej 9A, 8660 Skanderborg or Carsten Niebuhrs Gade 43, 1577 Copenhagen V.

At the Danish Agency for Buildings and Housing we work activity-based. We have chosen the activity-based layout and a positive approach to partial home-working because we want to strengthen our collaboration and knowledge sharing, create better opportunities for concentration, and support a good working environment with high well-being and flexibility in daily life.
